You sign your name for PMDG support. To prove you have a legit copy, they just look you up in their database and can give you 5 star support they're famous for. It is also courteous either way. I don't want to address you by kaspern83, I want to call you by your proper name, as do many others.

Everyone is content with PMDG being unprofessional about the release date information, well guess what, I am not. I believe that there has to be an official statement from PMDG that will update us on the progress with 777. I'm not asking to release it here and now, neither am I asking for a specific date. But out of common courtesy it's in their interest to provide their (sometimes zealously obsessed fans) a proper official statement.

I suggest you go relearn the definition of demagogue before attempting to use it again.  Asserting demagoguery here is a little incongruous with the situation.

Unprofessional?  Really?  How is it unprofessional?  I wasn't aware there was a professional standard on the matter.  Seems more like you're grasping at straws to justify your impatience, which is also somewhat confusing because you want updates (that are coming), yet in the same breath, you don't want a release date:

So what are you trying to accomplish?

Getting them to restate that they won't provide a release date, but nail them down to a schedule of updates?  "At every morning at 0800 EDT, we will provide an update on the progress of the product?"

 

They've been updating us relatively frequently, especially when compared to the likes of other industries.  What more do you want?

Asserting that those here are demagogues isn't really in line with that statement.  Then again, based on its use, I'm not entirely sure it was used in the manner you'd intended.

So how often do they need to update you to keep up to your professional standards? We know the update won't have the release date because you don't want that. What would need to be in their updates to be professional? They give us updates when they have them.

I hope it's released before then, or well after then It would be so tempting to try and get it before setting off on Cross the pond, miss the slot booking, miss half the flyin, and try to operate a new addon I'v never used before in one of VATSIM's biggest events. Recipie for tears there.

 

3rd November to 10th November 2013 is WorldFlight. I will be flying a sit-in multicrew 737-800 simulator that week, and can just imagine feeling a little jealous to hear "The PMDG 777 has been released" over the radio, and not being able to get it... then feeling guilty that I'm wishing I could be in front of my PC instead of sitting in a full sized cockpit replica. lol.

I'll be flying in all of those all being well. Maybe I'll try do two big flights for WorldFlight in the LR and push it to the limits. Across The Pond - I think I'll do Heathrow to the East Coast (USA) or Montreal/Toronto. I absolutely love flying in Canada - more so than the states
