Patches and service packs are released to finish off bugs etc. that weren't noticed in the test period prior release. You can allso add new features along the way. The test period takes as long untill you can't find problems. Simcity 2013 is a good example of thinking your way: "release it now and patch it later". That game has a history now with the worst launch ever, and it did't recover from that since. Even after 6 months and patch 7. Best regards, Stefan van Hierden

August 23, 201312 yr What going to happen to this thread when its released. I hope they don't close it. I don't think I can go on living without it now. Anyway that won't happen for a long long time.
August 23, 201312 yr There should be a section in these Forums called "PMDG: Historic Threads" where threads such as these are placed there to remind us just how frustrated, excited and giddy we all get/got close to a release. In ten years we can all look back and laugh at how much fun we all had LOL :lol:
August 24, 201312 yr Release date ? .... uhm ... never, actually ... sorry guys ... the NGX was the last release from PMDG before they got stuck in the "we need to reach perfection before release" death trap. Whenever they reach a point where they think about a possible release they figure they could get roughly 0.001% closer to perfection if they hold it back another couple of weeks, and after those weeks have passed they figure a bit of tweaking and tuning here and there for another couple of weeks could get them even closer to perfection... One day however they will figure that they can stop working because nobody uses FSX any more after Microsoft has dropped compatibility for 32bit applications in 256bit Windows14 a couple years before Disclaimer: this post is not supposed to be taken serious ... just in case :unsure: ---------------- Albert Martin
