FlyJSim 727 ?

Featured Replies

Hello,I'm looking for your opinion on those who own and fly The FlyJSim Boeing 727 Package.

It's on sale at The org.store and I'm thinking about buying it.

I usually fly GA but this looks like a good entry level Airliner to pick up since it's an older model.

I welcome your opinions,pros/cons.Thank You.

I bought this one on day one. Worth every penny. I think it's absolutely brilliant.

Amazing add on, can recommend together with Philipps's CIVA.

It's one of the best for XPlane. I wouldn't call it entry level however.

It takes more than the normal 3x1 for descent.

buy it! :good:

I can only wholeheartedly recommand this plane. She's a beauty, inside and outside. The most immersive cockpit to date in my X-Plane fleet. Flies so well I end up flying manually most of the time. You really have the choice: VOR/NDB navigation or the more sophisticated CIVA system.

You can also use fully featured UFMC as there already exists 727 config file for this.

Definitely agree, a properly modeled 727 (or the like from that era), which this one seems to be, is a difficult plane to manage, that can easily get away from you. (There's a reason these planes required a 3 man flight crew!) between flying, engine management, navigation, you can easily find yourself in an overspeed or stall situation, or busting assigned altitudes if your not paying close attention. Flying more modern fully automated airliners, like the A320 or the 777 may actually be a better choice for you if you are just getting your feet wet. Handling the older jets is quite a hand full, but very challenging!!

Thanks

Yes go get it now, for me it is the jet version of A2A in XP10 so to speak. The engine model is superb, overlook the limits and you'll see.

Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2

very nice plane and navigating VOR airways is a fun challenge

One interesting thing on this plane is they modeled deep stalls. If your not paying attention and your airspeed gets really low you may not be able to recover.

As to the deep stall, see if you can rock the wings to a high bank angle, with what lateral aileron control is left. When the angle is enough, the nose should fall through, to recover. This was actually done with a 727 during test flights.

One thing I can say about this plane is the engine sounds are amazing!

I will try that.. All I know is once I got into the deep stall by accident and I did recover I think I was at a really high bank angle when it did recover,

The aileron control is really limited but I will try it again soon.
