March 27, 201313 yr Good day sir, I would like to ask if there will be CD installation of PmDG 777? I find it more reliable than direct download of the product. You can reinstall anytime with it. Another question: Will the cd be released worldwide (Especially in the Philippines)? Thanks in advance Each turbulence we pass on, move on to the next waypoint and have a successful landing in life.
March 27, 201313 yr Hi there, remember to sign with your full name as well or your post will be deleted. There should be a CD at some stage, but this will take a bit of time. Although, please note that I don't speak on behalf of PMDG here, that is just the trend over the past few years :-). It would be another thing if you have a bad internet though or capped here like in the land of oz :-( I find it more reliable because you have the license key and you can reinstall anytime without problems. I don't wan't to let it happen that if you download the product then something s* happened to your hardware and needed to reformat. I lost my Airsimmer :( Double post: I can wait for 6 months after all variants being released because i need to do some part time talent in advertisments and i'm planning to get a $300-400 laptop Angelo Reyes Each turbulence we pass on, move on to the next waypoint and have a successful landing in life.

I lost my Airsimmer This is why you burn things to CDs and put things on other back up media. You can very easily make your own 777 CD by taking the 777 installer, copying the registration key from your account info (in your PMDG account login -> Order History) and putting it in a .TXT file, and burning those items to a CD. Sorry, but when I hear people say they lost downloaded software because they had to reformat, or their hard drive crashed, it just irks me. There's no reason for that to happen. Heck, I just reformatted my sim rig and lost nothing (to include add-ons I purchased back in 2009). Why? Backups, and backups of backups. It requires no extra work. Instead of deleting the installer like most people do, drag it onto another hard drive, or burn it to a disk. Simple. ...but to answer your question: Yes. Someone will be selling boxed versions of the aircraft at some point. Kyle Rodgers

You aren't protecting yourself against anything by not getting the download version - in fact if you lose your CD key sticker from the CD version you are completely out of luck and will have to buy it again. This can't happen with the download version though because it's always there and available in your account. Burning the download version to a CD, backing it up on a cloud service such as Dropbox or something similar is going to give you exactly the same retention of the installer file. Again, if something happens to your disc, you're out of luck and will have to repurchase. At worst with the download version you'd have to pay $5 to download it again if you lost your backup. Also, CD versions generally take upwards of 6 months after release to come out because we wait until the inevitable hotfixing and service updates are done before committing it to physical media. March 28, 201313 yr It's fine. Another thing: My dad won't allow me to buy direct download stuffs Why? You would have to pay over the internet just the same. I cna hardly imagine that a local retailer near your area will stock DVDs of the 777... --Peter Fabian
