You got burned by them? Then stop supporting them. You act as if any sort of uprising and revolt is worthy of a response. To be completely honest with you, sometimes companies don't care to deal with customers after the sale. It is not part of their plan, like it or not. There are no rules that say they must do what you want because you are the customer. This type of complaint is as old as the retail business itself.

It comes down to no more that buyer beware, and no matter how vocal you think you are by raising forums and facebook complaints, it will not move a company like this to anymore action than what they typically offer.

Do not judge people until you've walked a mile in their shoes. Then at least you are a mile ahead of them when you ###### them off...

You're right that it's buyer beware.....but I'm glad these people are vocal on forums and facebook so people do know what they're getting into. All those paying full price for this stuff have a right to complain. And I'm glad they did as I've only had to learn the lesson myself on the 9.99 sale.

That's why you get some G/A aircraft first and then proceed to something more complex IRL.

There is no point to fly airliner that flies like cessna 172. It's better to buy cessna 172 that flies like cessna 172.

Why there is no point? If you want to fly longer routes and take advantage of the FSX world and perhaps some of the sceneries or airports you are interested, then why you can't learn the basics with light airliners? Or if GA planes doesn't interest you at all or you are simply happy with lighter systems? Isn't this purely a personal preference and it is great that you have a possibility to choose? Besides, at least I can tell differences in handling between Cessna and larger airliner even though it may be light product. All in all, I'm completely okay with companies publishing light products (especially if they advertise them accordingly) and I'm really not the person to tell anyone that there is no point in flying lights although I myself don't care them anymore.

but I'm glad these people are vocal on forums and facebook so people do know what they're getting into

Absolutely. I do not discredit the fact that public forums allow potential customers to do heir research before hand. Thanks for adding that.

There's a fast food joint in my City;  the food's bad and will always make the hangover worse after a night on the town ....... but still, I go there, time and again, when the call for a quick fix of calories come along.....

It's not too different where Captain Sim is concerned these days.   The last 3 purchases from them have left as bad a taste in my mouth as a kebab from that fast food joint.

Still waiting for my 757 to be fixed.

What were you expecting  to get  for the 9.99  sale

I've been purchasing Captainsim products since the very beginning with their MiG-21 for FS2002(?) and there's a good reason why people shouldn't buy Captainsim until the annual EUR 9.99 sale, that's because people have high expectations with the full price product and they end up getting disappointed. If I paid EUR 40 for a Captainsim product I would be pretty angry with the lack of quality whereas If I paid only EUR 9.99 I would be absolutely delighted with what I got.

Another thing to remember is that Captainsim is simply bad at modern EFIS/FMS/Autopilot programming, anyone who knew what happened with the debacle that was the old 757 for FS9 would know this and avoided the 777 like the plague. I certainly did. Gauge programming in older aircraft with steam-gauges is much easier as they have very basic autopilots and they can get away with dummy switches on the FE panel and crappy INS (Because they know people will just use CIVA instead)

Lastly Captainsim is quite poor in the FDE department, however it can be fixed with .air file and aircraft.cfg editing. They really need a real-world airline pilot to test their products (Edit: I think CS do have some Ukrainian ex-mil pilots) as their FSX 707 flies no better than the FS9 707 which was released eons ago.

Tell me.  Why would anyone buy an exterior model only?  Maybe I can piece this together with my 777 Cabin only model and add something else to it a la carte.  I still feel that the 777 is unflyable.  Not sure it's even worth the $15.00 I paid for it since I don't fly it.

Reason 1: Merge with other freeware/payware panels/VC, See the other Captainsim Tristar thread.

Reason 2: The amount you paid counts as a full credit if you decide the purchase the complete v1.0 version later on, so if you're absolutely sure you'll buy the full product when it releases you might as well pay for the external model now and ogle at it.

They've made their business model clear folks.

They will always do these phased releases.

They actually possess enough talent to own a fairly unique place in the infrastructure of what is a static, if not dying, hobby.  I'm certain outfits like Captain Sim, Wilco, FeelThere, and Commercial-Level all do just enough to satisfy a breaking point.

They all satisfy the need for diversity and the impatience for the scant handful of high-quality add-on producers to bring us that diversity quickly.  CaptainSim is in the marketplace because many of us will satisfice with their output.  Warts and all.

I am an avid globetrotter with my trusty Lufthansa B777F, Polar Air Cargo B744F, and Atlas Air B748F.

I shouldnt worry, people have been buying 2 airbus addons recently calling them as real as it gets, when they cant do managed mode correctly, cant fly tight turns on sids and blast through constraights on climb and blast through them on descent.

Kidss will buy anything , no matter how crap it maybe, look at cow mooing ring tones for phones, kids will buy them, so no different to a junk airbus addon

Instead of letting the world know how slow you are; let me advise you that if you have any troubles with a particular add-on Airbus (AXE), the number one thing you can do is seek assistance at their forum and FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS! I have been flying he AXE and it's an art of work that Aerosoft developed.

With all the negative feedback....i knew exactly what to expect. Now I have a few planes which I don't fly which I paid for $13 each instead paying of full price. I knew exactly what the deal was so I wasn't really disappointed. They are beautiful planes tho....just too much missing or wrong with the systems side of things.

I will admit, I did enjoy their 707 and the 737-200.

+1 - goes for every purchase.

Lambasting CS is a time honored tradition, in many cases for good reason. But selling clearly advertised eye candy is not one of them.
