April 2, 201313 yr Whaaaaat!!! People are complaining about their 757,767,777 and all they can do is release another plane??!! This is like.. We foul simmers with 757,767,777 why shouldn't we foul them again... CaptainSim, you are so low level developer! April 2, 201313 yr They're dead for me. We complain about what they do and they go and DO IT AGAIN. Finish your stuff, THEN move on. Until everything before has been completed, CS nevermore. April 2, 201313 yr I've been hoping that they'd release this one only when it's complete, because the screenshots I saw looked like the VC was done already. But if they keep on this way, I'll go for the other Tristar, not matter what other users might report about this one. CS's sales policy is just stupid and becomes even more so IMHO! Florian
April 2, 201313 yr I'll simply say that it is a shame that they are doing it this way since I have to agree with Florian, that VC looked quite "done" to me as well :-). Kind regards Werner Gillespie CYB2400Proud member of Cyber Air Virtual AirlinesAVSIM Staff Member
April 2, 201313 yr I shouldnt worry, people have been buying 2 airbus addons recently calling them as real as it gets, when they cant do managed mode correctly, cant fly tight turns on sids and blast through constraights on climb and blast through them on descent. Kidss will buy anything , no matter how crap it maybe, look at cow mooing ring tones for phones, kids will buy them, so no different to a junk airbus addon Although this thread is nothing to do with Airbus addons, I would say that my experience of the Aerosoft Airbus X Extended is nothing like what you're describing. It's an excellent rendition of a 'normal operations' simulation; with many other nice immersion extras (like the checklists and audio) thrown in too. My 'bus turns tight SID turns without trouble and does not blast through constraints. Perhaps you have installation / configuration problems. Back O/T. It does seem a shame that given just how 'lite' the JF Tristar is (very lite!), the CS offering is going down the same route. You wait years for a Tristar, then too 'toy' versions come along at once!
April 2, 201313 yr CS might have the panel finished, but i bet all the coding behind it is still to be done... Or copied from another model then modified, dragging all the previous bugs into it. Good luck. April 2, 201313 yr Anyone notices that CS does not give any input on their side of things? Its like they're in a world of their own, and they believe all their customers are so jolly, and whatever they're doing is perfect! Are you sure they're not from N.Korea?
April 2, 201313 yr I have no clue what Fun Line means with Tristar, but I have CS B-52 and I quite like it. IMO it is far more detailed than many other "light" models from other manufacturers which tend to be more or less at the same level as the default aircraft. And light models aren't that bad at all, if they are well done. I pretty much started my FSX simming with JF Airbuses and I still think they are good for what they are although I haven't them installed anymore. Jumping immediately to some more heavy model might be pretty overwhelming experience and frustrate many at the start. In my opinion, we need lighter models to draw more people in the hobby. They just need to be well done and not some, *ehem* Abacus stuff. You learn the basics with lights, get more hungry and move on to more difficult planes. Or you may just like to experience immersive flight experience without all the hassle and half hour FMC programming before the flight. There is room for all kinds of models. About CS, I have many of their planes myself. I think their C130 and B-52 are good products and 727, 737 and 707 are pretty much on the same line and at least OK. For ten bucks a piece for base pack they were a bargain. I don't fly the liners that much, not because they are poor, but because my interests now lie more with the old stuff, warbirds and early jets, GA and older liners like A2A 377. I also bought CS 777 with 10 bucks and it is clearly an unfinished product and I can understand people's frustration who have paid full price of the product and expecting fully working plane at least after 1.0 release and not some beta state piece of software. I also didn't buy their 757 or 767 as I've understood that they have pretty big problems too. In my books they aren't nearly the best dev out there, far from it, but I have still pretty little to complain. Even with 777 I can't get angry after paying just 10 bucks and I also had my suspicions that it may take a while (or forever) it to be really good when making the purchase.
April 2, 201313 yr At 10 bucks a pop there is a market for Captain Sim's stuff. Lots of people just want to jump in and fly around and have some fun. The problem arises when people pay full price and expect something approaching a simulation. It is what it is, a buggy, almost completed product, with no customer support and no intention by the company of ever taking that extra step and finishing it. This has been going on for years and it astounds me that people are still complaining. How could you not know by now what to expect?
April 2, 201313 yr They did release updates for their planes. The 757 for example has had a lot of updates and it has a dedicated forum section for the upcoming update. Will this ever see the light of day? Maybe... Thing is, they seem to have completely abandonned those updates. The 767 was supposed to have a 2.0 version as well, and no sign of it... April 2, 201313 yr I agree that it does not show professionalism releasing exteriors of other aircraft when the latest released aircraft does not have all features claimed on their website that it has. This is like making people wanting an aircraft because of the astonishing exterior texture quality and then take lots of time to do the gauges and fd. April 2, 201313 yr I only have one CS add on, 737 200. Fortunately, I was aware of its existence after they had it 1.0. I am not sure if this is a right policy but until now, they have always been able to release full versions of products which are applied to this un-populist policy. I think those who are hesitate should wait instead of investing in incomplete product, you may consider that as 'not supporting' that sort of marketing strategy?
April 2, 201313 yr They make stuff like this because people keep buying it Why put the effort into complete, well simulated deep products when you can release 1/4 built planes that are poorly simulated and make money faster. Or you may just like to experience immersive flight experience without all the hassle and half hour FMC programming before the flight. There is room for all kinds of models. That's why you get some G/A aircraft first and then proceed to something more complex IRL. There is no point to fly airliner that flies like cessna 172. It's better to buy cessna 172 that flies like cessna 172. Lj. Prodanovic
