fsdream team KLAS and KJFK

Featured Replies

Hi all

Could someone give me there opinions on the fsdreamteam klas and kjfk scenery

I'm looking to purchase these airports and was wondering how they look and what impact they have on frame rates

I've read a good amount on the new releases but would like to get these two first before I look at the newer ones

Thanks

Pete Little

Hi Pete!

While these two airports may not be totally comparable to FSDT´s and flytampa´s most recent releases in terms of texture qualtiy, things like volumetric grass etc., they are still very good and not too heavy on the frames as well. It all depends on your AI traffic settings. I use MyTraffic 2013 with settings around 25%, which leads to quite dense traffic on both airports.

I would recommend both addons, if you want to fly into and from these places quite frequently.

I have the JFK and LS ones and love them!

Ooops, yes, I clean missed your klas and kjfk. Nevertheless, they are both very good.

Both good products (have them as well as KORD) and (also importantly for me at least) they are supported by AES.

Quality products, no doubt. No competition though, I don' t recall other developer who has them. Both airports are tolerable though as default and both have freeware enhancements.

Also you have to tolerate the couatl spyware in your computer.

Absolute rubbish!!!

System: MSFS2024, ASUS Rog Stryx Z790-A,  Intel i9-14900KF,  Asus ROG Ryujin III 360 , Asus Hyperion Case,Rog Stryx 4090 OC, Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD, 1Tb Samsung 860 EVO SSD,64Gb G Skill Memory, Asus Aura 1200W Gold PSU,Win 11 ,LG C4 48" 4K OLED Screen., Airbus TCA Full Kit, Stream Deck XL. WinWing FCU, EFIS, MCDU

You can't go wrong with FSDT airports. They are all beautiful.

BUT,

1) The developer need to consider the option to use the add-on manager to load all the airports when FSX is started. I want to avoid the loading pauses 10 miles out.

2) Since the anti-pop up helps reduce stutters, I hope that the setting chosen can be saved. I use 30 and I have to set it every time I fly to an FSDT airport.

3) You need a solid computer and FSX AI reduced, especially at locations like KJFK. Also, I prefer 2048 textures for great visuals an NO OOM errors.

Aside from that, FSDT has some of the best looking airports for FSX.

MSFS

Not to mention you can download and install in the demo mode for free - so you can be your own judge... It's the complete package - just on a timer...

Whats couatl? Isit some form of antipiracy thing ?

Pete Little

Couatl is "something" that is required to run FSDT sceneries. My Norton AV/Firewall does not like it, but by giving it privileges from your firewall settings they live together somehow. We have, lucky us, a honorable promise from the developer that this is not spyware. I think it must be understood as anti-piracy program as without it, you cannot enjoy the scenery.

Couatl is a form of licensing software installed by Virtuali who make the scenery on behalf of Cloud9/FSDT. It ensures that you do not run pirated Cloud9/FSDT software as there are a number of pirate sites offering their products. If you do have a genuine Cloud9/FSDT scenery, it will ask for this to be activated and if all above board will let you run the software in its full form. If this is supposed to be 'spyware' to thwart pirated software, then I am all for it.
