It's difficult to learn turboprop procedures? I usually fly with the NGX.

Is there a problem with justflight's purchasing system? I can't even buy it

Cheers,

Pete

Hi Pete, I've just run through a purchase and not seen any problems. Could you try again and let me know the specific problem you see if it happens again?

Thanks

This is one seriously high quality new 'office' for us FS nuts to spend time in!

not really, it took me months to learn NGX but days to learn to fly the pmdg Js41. the difference is you can fall asleep in the 737 but no way in a turbo prop

I too am experiencing activation issues.  So far have sent JF 2 emails and waiting (not upset).

Most aspects of operating this plane are easier than in the NGX.    However the area that is more complex is around the operation of the turbo-prop engines.    You are monitoring Torque, RPM and ITT in the main.

As well as setting Power (PL), you have Condition Levers (CL) where you have to set RPMs for given phases of flight;

Eg.....  Take-off:  1020rpm (Max)

           Climb:       Pull back to 900rpm

Cruise:      Pull back to 850rpm (Min)

The UNS FMC is very different to that in the NGX, but once you get used to it, it's very easy to use and set up.

Well you hardly fly the hours you do in a turbojet aircraft! ;)

Simeon can you answer my questions please, thank you.

Rich,

This forum is not monitored constantly by Majestic as we also have a forum, in which we would appreciate most questions and issues to be addressed .......

but to answer your questions:

1.  Autoland is not a feature of the Dash 8 - the best you can down is have the autopilot fly her down to about 500 feet and them resume control of the aircraft for landing.

2.  The aircraft is also Navigraph capable which will of course keep you FMS database up-to-date for phases of navigation (en-route, ILS, RNAV, etc)

For those finding the flight controls very sensitive/twitchy in flight, remember that the Control Panel has "Sensitivity" settings for each flight control.

I presume that these sensitivity settings will work with the External FDE that this aircraft uses, so probably more effective, than setting sensitivity in FSX.

I found changing sensitivity for the Elevator and Aelerons from 1.000 to 0.800  has made the aircraft much smoother on the controls.

She's an absolute dream to fly now.

Chris good info - as stated "The aircraft is also Navigraph capable" do I need to buy this or does it have the basic info all ready ?

2hr jet vs 2 hr t/prop.  t/prop is a higher workload

It has everything you need.    You'd only need to pay for Navigraph if you wanted regular updates to the database (for when fixes, approaches, etc change over time).

Cycle 1304 should be included, monthly updates you can buy from navigraph (of you wish to)
