FSDT Released KJFK v2!

Featured Replies

only see jetways at JFK v2 only during the day. They disappear at night, dawn, and dusk. I have my autogen at sparse or higher, and I'm in DX10 preview, which FST takes full advantage of.

I see them and they are working.  I have DX10 enabled too and Autogen is turned off.  I believe the Special Effects slider manages jetways.

Best regards,

Jim

I purchased version 1 last Xmas and version 2 yesterday. There was no 'docking' indicators in version 1 and I was sad to see that they are still missing in version 2? Why was this?

According to the manual for JFK V2, this is controlled by new features called ParkMeTM and YouControlTM.  They require the GSX program to be installed (free version).

Best regards,

Jim

I asked this same question on the FSDT forum, and I'm waiting for a reply.  Maybe you guys can help me:

Has anyone noticed this?  Maybe, I'll do a reinstallation of JFK v2 tonight to see if that helps.

I started seeing this too after the first time I loaded it, wrote it off as a glitch but then restarted FSX and the PC a couple times and it still happened.  haven't had time to investigate yet.  I will also note that the very first time I loaded up KJFK after upgrading to V2 I forgot to activate it so the trial ended during that session and that's when the problem occurred.  I later activated it of course but the problem remains.

Thanks guys. I will play around tonight to see if I can nail it down. I did a comparison with the other FSDT airports, and the jetways show up on them all times of the day.

What kind of FPS should I be expecting? I've heard there's an increase in FPS but an increase in VAS usage as well, thus making it harder to run (or something, I apologize for not knowing the terminology and its impact) owing to it being coded to FSX code. I'm already barely getting 12-18 FPS in JFK (without Manhattan X), I'd hate to get bogged down even further.

[And on a side note: what does VAS do and why does the high VAS usage make it impossible to fly the Concorde out of JFK? I'd love to learn what the VAS means/does...]

Still stuck with my jetway mystery.  I uninstalled and reinstalled.  I'm still waiting for a response from FSDT in their forum.  Jetways are only visible during the day for me.  Here are some screen shots.

I have GSX the full version and it's the same.

Update:  I did more troubleshooting, and it seems that the jetways display at all times in DX9 mode, but for some reason, they are only visible during the day in DX10 mode.

Hmm, I thought this scenery was DX10 compatible.  Any comment from FSDT?  The reason I buy their scenery over say Fly Tampa is because of the DX10 compatibility.

Good news.  I trust FSDT to fix issues like this, I find them to be a top-notch developer.

I hope they fix it too.  FSDT is may favorite, not just for their quality, but for embracing the DX10 benefits.

This could explain why I'm seeing them and many are not.  I fly exclusively in DX10.  But it's hard to understand technically why this is happening.
