FSDT Released KJFK v2!

Featured Replies

2.16 GB standalone or 2.16 with everything on?  2.16 with everything is good.  2 GB standalone (ie, concorde ~3.5 gb sitting at JFK or !4GB! at JFK v2)) is bad.

Think I'll wait for Flightbeams KIAD instead, I already have version 1 of KJFK

OK, bought the update for €8.00 not tested yet though :)

X-Plane 12 and MSFS2020  🙂

System specs: Windows 11  Pro 64-bit, Ubuntu Linux 20.04 i7-13700KF  Gigabyte Z790 RTX-4060-Ti , 32GB RAM  1X 2TB M2 for X-Plane 12,  1x256GB SSD for OS. 1TB drive MSFS2020

Just upgraded, does not like manhatten x scenery with OOM crashes :(

I got my AES to work by putting the old AES file in the new KJFK/scenery folder. Only issue is the gates from the demolished terminal are still present.

Works fine for me in DX10. Running with UT2 and NGX as well.

Dx10 keyword hehe. I still use 9 and while I haven't had an OOM I still haven't flown with NGX.

If we could only clone the FSDT team and have them take on the world's major hubs.

I would personally love to see them do a NY triple play by doing LGA and EWR to add to JFK.

I'd like that too Luis. To be fair though FB's PHX is a very good airport. FSDT is making KIAH (90% possibility) and I think someone else is doing a KIAD so now might be a good time to be a UA virtual pilot!

Since I'm around KEWR I have the same scenery wish list! I think Draswicki (my spelling is bad on that one) is making several NY area airports including EWR, JFK, LGA and others (including the JRB heliport). I wonder if I could install the other airports but leave FSDT's JFK.

It will be good to have KIAH.  I have a suspicion FB is just a subsidiary of FSDT because of their outstanding SFO, PHX, and soon IAD - plus they share the add-on manager  :P

I'm looking forward to Drzewiecki replicating NYC's skyline and they should do a great job with LGA and EWR. Their product will allow you to turn off the JFK that will be included.  I have their Miami product, where they offer MIA as part of the product, but since I already have LatinVFR MIA, I just kept that one.  Once thing for sure, I will use DX10 mode to avoid OOMs with so much detail.  Cant wait!

I never praise a Flightsim developer for outstanding customer service. I dont see a reason too. They are a company who wants to make money so it is in their best interests too provide said customer service.

Quote above is from this topic.

Hummm. I personally do not feel right taking a shot at a developer for poor customer service and then refusing to praise them for good customer service. I just cannot balance it out that way.

One aspect that works against us as flight sim consumers/enthusiasts is that we stampede as a herd toward promising new releases, especially new aircraft models. So in those cases the developer gets our discretionary dollars before the model release has proved itself in the market. In this market we vote with our dollars. Another frailty that I have, and have repeated, is to before making a purchase fail to poke around on developer web sites and support areas to see the issues and responses, and the response time. Had I done that there are in my mind three products I have purchased this year that I would have better served myself by doing just that. Poking around. When we buy too quickly as a herd, some developers seem to pass their break even points and consider their releases as completed. In the future when I see that happen I will consider that to mean that the door to customer service as locked.

The onus is on us.

+1.  I like developers who continue to improve their products too when better or newer technology is found.

Well, sadly I just got 10fps landing at JFK v2 in the Airbus Extended. If there is a 30% improvement in performance, I sure didn't see it.

Sorry, but i need to chime in on the upgrade price.

If developers "Work Hard"  to bring out a serious update that takes time and effort, and by this I mean more than a few weeks, then pay up, or do not get the upgrade, as the original is fantastic anyway.

Please do not expect people to work for FREE!

It is neither fair, nor realistic to have a company work without some compensation, and their price is more than generous, and they seem to have tried their best to lower FPS impact on top of that.

Beat me up for my opinion if you will, as everyone has a different opinion, but please consider your position if you worked for three to four months without pay.

Depends on the point of view. We have big companies and small companies that have different approaches to this matter. Microsoft for one has never charged me a penny for its O.S. updates. Of the smaller companies in sim world I could take for example the Sibwings. They provided free version of their upgraded planes when we got to change platform from FS9 to FSX. Fair deal I must say. And one loyal customer created as well.

It is good to remember that we customers are also investors, we participate in the development by buying things and sometimes we expect profit from our investments. But this is just my way of seeing things, I have no interest to be a benefactor for the developers, just a customer. Buying sim addon is no different from buying an anti-virus software or any other software for that matter. It is a product to fullfil a need. But this is already OT.

Bought it this morning, looks very good and performance is great.
