April 29, 201313 yr I just did a good 10 hour flight yesterday in the old 744X. This week, for review reasons, I will spend much more time in the 737 NGX, my short and medium route king (or is that queen???)When the T7 is out, I will fly it short and medium during the week, long and ultra long over the weekends, that is the great thing about simulation - I can fly it 200 2000 or 10000 miles, the decision is mine completely! Also in response to the poster about the T7 looking "normal" - you are right, it looks exactly like the real thing, very normal indeed, no missing windows, panels, buttons or displays  :LMAO: ! Not sure what else you can expect, amazing job by PMDG as far as I am concerned.Kind regards 10 hour flight ? That's nothing... I'm planing on doing a 32 hour flight on that long hauler when it comes out. I thinking the poster about the "normal stuff" meant just the basics graphics- there's no "wow factor" as in the AXE, or 737, or the VRS, or the LancAir. Mccarter, you moron!@ Guys, behave! They're going to put this topic on Avsim most wanted>
April 29, 201313 yr Well the 777 does not always have to do long hauls, maybe just a short or medium route with a full cabin? like KSAN to KSFO will do? April 29, 201313 yr Well the 777 does not always have to do long hauls, maybe just a short or medium route with a full cabin? like KSAN to KSFO will do? When I had a 777 installed, that's what I did. No need for long flights just because it might be a 777ER (extended range). I also did this with the CS767 and CS757. But then I always try to keep my flights down to less than 2 hours per session. When the PMDG 777 is eventually released, I doubt it will see much ocean. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! April 29, 201313 yr I think most of my flights of the 777 will be of the cargo variety, so I can justify relatively short hauls, but still feel I'm flying realistically. 2 hours is ok, but 3 hours is pushing it for me. I've tried a few times to sit through a long haul, but since the only thing I ended up doing for the entire time was clicking Alt Intervention to authorized a step climb, I never felt I was having much fun.

Yes, in FSX (and in any sim), we can waste all kinds of fuel and energy! I just enjoy flying the heavies and getting the FMC set up and now I'm enjoying starting up my 737NGX from a cold and dark situation. I had to learn that if I wanted to use the GSX or AES pushback programs so the learning curve was expedited. I'm sure it will be like that when I [finally] get the PMDG777. April 29, 201313 yr At the end of the day, it's YOUR money. Fly the addon however you like and not judge people who choose to fly it a different way. From a poll a little while ago, we know that there are different types of simmers (hard core, average, GA only, etc...) let's respect each other's preference and do what we like in our own sims. With increasing RW economic issues affecting the company I work for, my ability to sim has been drastically reduced. There's no way I will even contemplate a long haul in one sitting. I downloaded Destinantion Finder and will put in 2 to 3 hours max and fly wherever, with whatever livery I want. "I am the Master of the Fist!" -Akuma

April 30, 201313 yr If the 737 is too automated for you, then certainly you wouldn't like the 777...or any other airliner for that matter. First off, don't get me wrong. I enjoy flying the modern airliners occasionally. I wouldn't like any other airliner? What about A300B4? DC-9? B742? DC-10? These are all airliners that are still in operation today, and these planes are much less automated than the Boeings. There is also no VNAV and no FMS to fly you around. I just think it is just fun to take control of the plane using VOR and INS and calculate TOD with a calculator and paper. Try it, you may find it fun! April 30, 201313 yr What's the problem ? If I prefer the 777, it's my choice. Everyone does what he wants. There was no problem. It's called a friendly, light-hearted jab to your very firm declaration that the 737NGX will never again see the light of day, hence the smiley face. In fact, your statement was so definitive, I originally assumed you were just being facetious!

April 30, 201313 yr Author I wonder how would it feel flying the approach to landing manually with the T7 . How stable will it be on rainy weather. No Autopilot just flying the approach right down to the runway . How well will accu feel 2.0 play along with the T7 . I guest we will have to wait to find out .
