What ever happened to Lotus Sims?

Featured Replies

I would say that it still has the best landing lights and VC rain effects in any plane I have and I have the best of the best.

Yep agreed... no one else has quite got the technique down...  some are very close and their lights look very good in game.

Ryan please stop spending my money

Oh my... you don't actually have this yet?!?!? I've got nothing bad to say about it. I enjoy flying the Reno Racer with RXP... it's the fastest one out there. The dual cockpit ones have some awesome features like IFR "hood" curtain that you can drag over the front canopy etc... very cool. The back cockpit can control the front for failures etc and it works with shared cockpit multiplayer. Additionally the frame hit is ultra low... this thing ends up around my stock C172 VC... seriously. Getting used to the eastern bloc cockpit stuff is fun but really not bad at all!

Alright lol Ill need to get this

It's a ton of fun to blast around in the L-39 pretending that it's your own private jet...

Getting use to the metric style instruments when your use to imperial can be a bit of a challenge if your not accustom to that system but, the aircraft itself is still top shelf material. I would seriously consider anything developed by Lotus in the future.

"They"? Pretty sure it's just one guy. Amazing aircraft though! Be careful with it. It's not a modern combat jet. It doesn't have a lot power and the spool time is 3 years :) Bring some speed into loops and other acrobatics. You might not get it over the top hehe.

Yup. Fly the engine first, the plane second...

That's the fun part hehe.

The Lotus L39 is the BEST hand flying plane in FSX to date.

I purchased it just lately and it sure flies great, but a minor graphics update and an authentic cold war cockpit option would be a nice addition and promote sales.

The reason I brought up the topic in the first place is I have been using it in conjuction with REX Latitude to really critique my hand flying prowness; or lack thereof. I really wish I could find a commercial aircraft that hand fly's as nice as the L39.  The new Magestic Dash 8 Q400 would be the ticket but it's external FDE plays havok with Latitudes method of recording flight data.  I googled Mike's Kiwi kit plane and that is a sweet looking GA composite.

Yup, the L-39 is one of my all time favorites, too.  Great little GA rocket that will keep you on your toes,  especially on landing.

Whatever Lotus Sims comes out with next,  will most probably buy.

I'm actually glad he stopped working on the Mig.  I wouldn't buy it...  I'm really not into those fighter jet things.  The L39 is sort of a trainer step to the Mig, naturally, but it's also used in reno races,so I like to think of it as a GA personal jet.

This Furio plane is right up my alley!
