What ever happened to Lotus Sims?

Featured Replies

There L-39 was awesome; still pretty darn good today.  I thought for sure they would have produced more than just one aircraft but I haven't heard a word about them and their sight looks like it has not been updated (news section) in a LONG time.  Are they still in the simulation business?

Yep, the L-39 was so good on release, it reminded me of the new benchmark the recent MJC release has made.

Shame that the purveyor of something as great as that doesn't seem active in FS Developments these days.

Yes he's actually doing a Kiwi kit plane... I think it's called a Furio Falco. Details at his support forum.

He had started a Mig 29 but stopped for now, and also a semi-glass panel Lancair Legacy... About the same time RealAir was doing theirs. So he stopped that too and picked up this project.

Maybe Lotus could do a nice older bizjet....

I'll have to give his L-39 a go sometime

I still take the Lotus L-39 out for a spin...it's a fantastic addon aircraft that's well worth its price.

I don't know where they went, but I really wish they would start back up on the MiG-29. It's such an amazing aircraft and I know it would sell well as no one really develops high quality "unknown" aircraft these days.

I fly it as my own personal jet all the time online. It accepts RXP 430 with VC integration. I've also done a simple custom A/P to hold hdg and alt during long flights.

The Lotus L-39 still ranks right up there in the top 2 or 3 aircraft produced for FSX. I routinely fly it for sheer flying pleasure!

Lotus did an awesome job with this aircraft. Great tutorial video too. Part one of three attached.

Watch all three in 720p HD, full screen.

The L-39 is my favorite FSX airplane of all time!

Blaze thanks for starting this thread, this airplane is a gem and anyone who doesn't have it should morgage their assets to get it. :P

I recently stopped by Mike's forum and there is a plane in development, as Ryan pointed out. I don't care what iplane it is, Mike's got my business.

Was wondering this myself actually. The L-39 was a groundbreaking addon - it was the first to do the 3D volumetric landing light stuff that almost every addon does now.

Oh my...  you don't actually have this yet?!?!?  I've got nothing bad to say about it.  I enjoy flying the Reno Racer with RXP... it's the fastest one out there.  The dual cockpit ones have some awesome features like IFR "hood" curtain that you can drag over the front canopy etc... very cool.  The back cockpit can control the front for failures etc and it works with shared cockpit multiplayer.  Additionally the frame hit is ultra low...  this thing ends up around my stock C172 VC...  seriously.  Getting used to the eastern bloc cockpit stuff is fun but really not bad at all!
