July 1, 201312 yr Hmmm. Too bad. But I'll have a look at these files when I can spare some time to see if anything can be done... Regards, Tom

I'd be happy to donate if you guys are open for it. Alex Leung Aerospace Engineering Undergraduate Glider & Private Pilot via Royal Canadian Air Cadets

I'd be happy to donate if you guys are open for it. There really is no money needed. We are both doing this in our free time, and money really wont help things go by faster. If you like the Seabee once its released, feel free to donate money for it though, or buy the FSX version. Kevin Miller 3D Artist and developer
July 1, 201312 yr I simply wanted to fly in different places so I've been giving XP10 a whirl recently which has kept me away from Flight. Although overall I'm very happy with it, Flight still holds a (very) special place in my simming heart, and if its potential can be unlocked no-one will be happier than me! Unfortunately I can't offer any practical help, but I'll be keeping everything crossed for you guys :Applause: I also purchased XP10 and I love it. But Flight is the reason I own a yoke/pedals/throttle quadrant and a headset. Flight is why I learned about VORs and beacons and the great big numbers painted on runways. Flight taught me how to fly in a sim. I like XP10, but I love Flight, I just want more.

Let me just say, as one of the former developers on the Flight team, reading stuff like this really makes my day. I truly wanted Flight to introduce simming to a new generation, and im glad it did to some extent. It also holds a very special place in my hart, and the engine truly has massive potential if it could ever truly be tapped. Kevin Miller 3D Artist and developer
July 2, 201312 yr @MVGibbage Really intrigued by the small hints you've given about how the flight model has changed. This sounds like it has the potential to be much more advanced and customizable. Thus, more RW fidelity and "personality" in each aircraft. My MSFS 2020 repaints: Flightsim.to - Profile of HStreet Working on MSFS 2024 versions.
July 2, 201312 yr I hope that you can finish this task and open MSFlight for user created content. If this happens, i think Flight will be the most advanced flight simulator up to date and this will boost it again. My only concern is that MS will shut down the servers in the next months or year so that all the progress that could be made is buried before it can even start.Anyway we can just wait and see, but I (and most people) are still waiting for a FSX successor. There are no real alternatives so far...
July 2, 201312 yr There are no real alternatives so far... P3D v2 and X-Plane -_- Allthough nice to see that someone atleast try to keep this platform alive
July 2, 201312 yr Let me just say, as one of the former developers on the Flight team, reading stuff like this really makes my day. I truly wanted Flight to introduce simming to a new generation, and im glad it did to some extent. It also holds a very special place in my hart, and the engine truly has massive potential if it could ever truly be tapped. Well my story is similar. Tried MS Flight -because of the free base install- when i saw it in the Steam store. Just to see how it looked like on my new comp. I thought it was pretty good, but when I discovered the ANV radio's were actually working, i tweaked the destination marker inactive and learned all about VOR navigation and ILS-landings. Loved the flight dynamics and weather also by the way! Only the stream of warbbirds without cockpits and the lack of bigger GA or jets being in the pipeline, yugh. But Flight really started the flight sim spark in me and I was really disappointed to read about the project being cancelled. Now i am deep into FSX and have loads of addons and having a great time. But Flight had some strong points that in FSX could never be achieved because of its age. FSX is great, because it's such an open platform that a lot of people are still enjoying and a lot of addon developers are still going strong. But it's not being upgraded ever, so there will come a succeeder anyway given time. I was hoping it would be Flight. Mark
July 2, 201312 yr P3D v2 and X-Plane -_- Allthough nice to see that someone atleast try to keep this platform alive  P3D is just FSX with few bug fixes... and no news on v2. X-Plane ist not a real alternative. They are both ugly and not user-friendly unless you install hundreds of add-on`s worth several thousand bucks... For this case Flight made a step forward. Just a pity MS mismanaged this. But withe these fine guys developing user content there is at least hope.
July 2, 201312 yr Commercial Member yes - there is hope ! there is always hope ! the only way for flight to go anywhere to be opened to developers with some sort of sdk. talking about hopes and whole world being covered etc etc; do not work. Need facts else can stay on the shelf among the dust!
July 2, 201312 yr P3D is just FSX with few bug fixes... and no news on v2. X-Plane ist not a real alternative. Well P3Dv2 is coming and with DX11 support, also it will have backwards comp with FSX scenery, so for me that have alot FSX scenery already it's very nice. Don't have to go out and buy everything again.... Why do Orbx commit itself to P3D V2 if it ain't happening? They are both ugly and not user-friendly unless you install hundreds of add-on`s worth several thousand bucks... For this case Flight made a step forward. Just a pity MS mismanaged this. But withe these fine guys developing user content there is at least hope. I find FSX very userfriendly X-plane a little less user friendly, but you don't have to be a rocket scientist to make them work... Well, Flight only have Hawaii as default, to get more you would have had to buy addons just like with FSX so I can't see the issue, only that there are no scenery addons available so your limited to Hawaii and Alaska... If Flight had continued you would have to buy addons for that too and in the end that would be just as expensive as investing in FSX or X-plane, only that you would have to buy scenery made by Microsoft and it would have taken years for them to complete the world and it would not be the same quality as other 3partys are capable of doing... E.G Orbx Alaska I think looks alot better than Microsofts Flights Alaska... the only way for flight to go anywhere to be opened to developers with some sort of sdk. Now that would have been something. If that had happend I would have jumped on Flight right away..
July 2, 201312 yr First of all, the developers stated that Flight would not consist of the entire world, even if they did continue creating scenery. Second of all, please try to stay on topic with what we're trying to accomplish. It is what it is. That's life. July 2, 201312 yr I know it is what it is but just had to respond when someone says there are no alternatives for the future because there is. (P3D and X-plane)
