Is anyone close to cracking this thing open?

Kevin - I like the idea of having unlockable skins.  I don't care for all the "Gold" challenge type stuff, but finding a remote airport and landing at it, or carrying some cargo to the southernmost or northernmost airport in Alaska or Hawaii, or something along that line would be fun.  I think your suggestions are very good too.

One question, however. Is it going to be possible to make the Seabee capable of carrying cargo and doing clandestine missions?

Thanks.

That would be great, and then if possible Cargo Missions from and to seaplane airports!

That's a great idea.

I would like to also point out that the most popular general aviation aircraft in the world, the most used in training, and most produced civil aircraft is the Cessna 172. Just hinting.

P.S. I would pay good $ for an MSFlight C172

OH YES!!! Too bad I'm going to be away for 7 weeks. I won't be able to keep up with everything. I'll have to quickly catch up when I get back.

I will ask Stone about cargo, but I see no reason it cant!  I loved flying cargo, and laughed my &@($* off when I inverted a cargo load full of chickens.

I love the idea of unlockable skins. Gives me a reason to fly to places I would normally not go to.

In fact, that list of unearned achievements has been one of the reasons why I fire up Flight on a regular basis and why it became my favorite GA sim. (the other reason being simply its incredible immersiveness with Flight's superb 3D engine, weather and sound)

Regards,

Tom

The idea of having unlockable "rewards" sounds quite good to me.  Some may regard it as to "gamey" for a proper sim, but I like it.

Fine, but no flying through hoops.

Any reward system I would have would be acceptable from the perspective of a proper pilot!!!  Nothing like flying inverted under a bridge, or something that would be against FAA rules.  For Alaska, I was thinking of having you fly from airport A and land at airport B, but keeping the flight level under X.  Forcing you to fly between mountians and into vally's, simulating bush flying.  This would unlock the Kenmore air livery or something, since this is what Kenmore Air does!  Kenmore is famous in the PNW, and started as a Seabee sales office.  People would come into the office, and ask the pilots to be dropped off on a lake, or in the wild.  Thats what got them started, so its history, not mockery.  THATS what I want in Flight, and I think the mission system is a great tool.

Now stuff like this is what I like.  A little bit of background and historical info about the area I am flying in.

Ditto exactly!

..and I like the idea of awards for achieving real flight goals.  ..and I agree with Steve about the hoops.

It would be very nice if the Seabee could do cargo missions, but the seaplane bases might be a bit of a challenge.  Almost all the "bases" are just an unmarked rectangle of water.  Adding ramps, docks, etc. would probably be a separate project.  That would be very, very nice.

The idea to have to unlock items is very welcome from me :) Your suggestion of simulated bush flying by setting a max altitude, or a reasonnably technical water landing with some fragile cargo in an imposed weather theme, anything that could bring people to get more Flight time !

Really WELL DONE here stonelance and gibbage. I was on the early beta (wont forget the excitement and anticipation) - and now there are sparks of those same feelings coming back. Good luck. Perhaps a Kickstarter project to help fund this could happen?

I'm all for having some sort of achievements for certain skins. Gives me a good reason to fly the aircraft and do something I wouldn't do otherwise.

Keep up the great work MVGibbage and stonelance, always anxiously waiting to hear what's next!

Rock, Paper, Shotgun brought me here, after a long long time :)

Excellent news - reinstalling as we speak. Since Flight 'happened' I've been navigating around in old mil jets and WW I lawnmowers but it'll be great to come back fresh to 'the one that started it all'
