August 17, 201312 yr Below a certain altitude the ground looks paler, almost like flooded with Grey water When I drop below this level everything looks fine? IS it just me or do others get this? August 17, 201312 yr Author Thanks but I've tried turning Fog off in REX but still get it, only seems to be around Innsbruck (so far). Next time ill clear all weather to see if that changes anything. 3080rtx on a i7 12700k with 32 Gig ddr5. 2gig Ssd Quest 2 Windows 11
August 17, 201312 yr Its fog and it will look like that - sometimes it looks ok sometimes not. Rich Sennett
August 17, 201312 yr Author Thanks, get paranoid that my system is not working correctly, should just enjoy the flying ! ! Cleared all weather and it went away. Just wasn't expecting to see fog in the middle of the day in the Summer. Heard that Fog isn't Rex's strongpoint. Appreciate your quick answers. August 17, 201312 yr Don't think it's fog, just a layer of lower visibility. Are your using the REX visibility smoothing? Mess about with a few REX settings and you may sort it out.
August 17, 201312 yr I too had that problem, and could not get rid of it despite a couple of postings to the REX forums. I also had a problem with excessive haze - half the time it looked like I was flying in the vicinity of a forest fire. Never could get the visibility set to my liking. Took care of the problem by moving to Opus. Uses the REX textures, but is a different weather engine. August 17, 201312 yr That's FSX's default fog/lower vis depiction. REX should have a setting that gets rid of that and adds cloud cover instead.
August 17, 201312 yr Commercial Member Turn OFF the option labelled "Enable Realistic Haze Layer" in REX. It's located on the CONFIGURATION MANAGER/CLOUDS TAB, under the GLOBAL CLOUD LAYERS area. Please make CERTAIN that the simulator is CLOSED before doing so. This is an FSX known bug. We have that option because folks wanted to be able to enable/disable this. Steve All you need to do is disable realistic haze or fog layer. This is the culprit.
