[...] Could it be explained a bit more so I know exactly what to look for? For example .. a knob clickspot or other? and once it was working ... then disappeared .. never to return or intermittent?? or other symptoms? FSX only (not FS9)? etc. [...] As far as i understood it - all clickspots are being lost at once - and it can happen at any given time or state of flight. For whateve rreason exactly - well: This is what is tried to be figured out now. Especially in regards to the 777 this strange issue seems to be not that bad - but i have to point out, that i can only confirm what i have read so far - or not. And by now i have not read anything about it at PMDG's support forums so far - but maybe someone else can offer some more details regarding this odd issue in regards to the PMDG 777. With A2A's C172 and F1's B200 it seems to be a noticeably issue though - at least when judging from the number of various user feedbacks at either general flightsim forums such as AVSIM or the dedicated developer's support forums. F1 might have a solution for its B200 in its forthcoming SP1 though! I also own the B200 by Flight 1 and so far have not encountered this issue, but, as pointed out here, read about it several times at the B200 forum at simforums-dot-com Sadly, but obviously A2A's 172 has these troubles as well - currently at least - and for whatever specific reason. I really want to point out though, that i do not blame any of the developers listed here, because this weird issue appears to be a rather new and until now almost unknown one. So please do not get me wrong here - i just really want to support the idea of the topicstarter ryanbatcund here to help finding a solution for this - ... whatever it is ... If i may suggest to also add the OS as well to each report list here - just in case. So: Here is my feedback - and i am one of the lucky ones who - so far has not been struggeling with this issue, but maybe it helps to narrow the places to look into for the developers: I use a single monitor set up I use OPUS weather - but most important here: OPUS Camera is in use as well I use TIR 5.0 I use windowed mode ... and let FSX turn off Aero whenever it starts - so i am in Basic mode as well DX 9 Win 7, 64bit .. and - so far no issues with the F1 B200. I am looking very much forward to A2A's C172, and will purchase PMDG's 777 either today or tomorrow and report back again as soon as i have the time to check it out a bit and see how it all performs. Due to all my spendings, the A2A C172 has to wait a bit, but as soon a i have it - and if (what i do not really think, but who knows) this weird issue should still be unsolved then - then i will report back as well regarding the C172. For now it would be great to have as many feedback as possible by those who sadly have to suffer from this "new" and latest "FSX surprise" though and help finding a solution. Cheers, Christoph Enjoy flying and happy landings.
September 4, 201312 yr Author And I'm the same as you Christoph... Except my opus camera control is disabled. If I get into this ill make and Excel spreadsheet with common factors... September 4, 201312 yr Author Nope. That's something specific. September 4, 201312 yr I have a feeling it's multi-monitor related.. Pretty sure all of the posts I've seen with this issue (at least those who mentioned their display config) have 2+ monitors. In the case of the other aircraft, perhaps. But in the case of the A2A C172, that is not the case. I am a standard single monitor user and I lose all clickspots in the 172 around 1 minute after loading the aircraft. Over on the A2A forum there are many users reporting the loss of all VC clickspots, who are single monitor users. If the viewpoint is within geometry, i.e. headrest, clcikspots will become unclickable. For me and others - in the A2A C172 case, the issue happens regardless of viewpoint, geometry etc. It happens when viewspoint is fully reset, toggled, zoomed in, zoomed out, etc. .......with or without TrackIR in use.
September 4, 201312 yr Commercial Member Good on you Ryan for trying to co-ordinate some community feedback in order to find a common denominator. It can't hurt at all. The only issue perhaps is whether any of the devs in question pay attention to this thread. I almost forgot about the fact that I've experienced this bug in the B200 on occasion (and that's a plane that truely depends on the mouse in the VC!). I've had it happen a single time in the 172. I've also had it happen in the past on another plane, but for the life of me, I can't recall which. To be honest, it's never happened to me with enough regularity to be very concerned - I've always taken it in stride along with all the other FSX 'particularities'. For what it's worth: - FSXA - DX9 - Win 7 pro 64 in basic mode - multiple monitors (3) with only single display running fsx full screen - Opus, weather only - No EZCA, or TrackIR - ATI video card Jim Stewart Milviz Person.
September 4, 201312 yr Author I don't like being cliche, but this may just be the nature of the FSX beast (old programming plus new addons combined)... It is a shame especially after Pete fixed the G3D error now we have this oddball issue... Argh! Anyway some devs read here but I wonder what they've found (guessing they're not all willing to share)... What we need are users with Vanilla installations running these addons individually. Example... No addons except B777 and so on. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
September 4, 201312 yr I also get this occasionally with the B200 and have had it 1 out 7 flights with the C172. 3 fullscreen monitors, EZdok+TIR, Opus with camera control disabled, FSXAcceleration, Win7x64, Aero Disabled. --John near KPAE
September 4, 201312 yr Scott from A2A has just reported on the A2A forum that they have a potential fix, which they hope to get out as a Hotfix by the end of hte day.
September 4, 201312 yr Author I saw that too... F1 said its fixed in their latest service pack as well. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
September 4, 201312 yr Scott has finished the HOTFIX and it's available; but he's distributing it by PM, so I'm afraid users will need to be on the A2A forum to pick it up. (He has kindly sent me a link, but at the moment the link (Dropbox) is dead, due to "excess traffic"). Give him time though, and I'm sure he's find a way of getting it to us. :smlie:
September 5, 201312 yr I have just posted this on the other thread that has been discussing this bug too :- I have tested the HOTFIX which Scott sent me, and for me, it has completely cured the Clickspot problem. This is not A2A announcing it as fixed, I'm just Joe user, but the problem is completely fixed for me, since applying the Hotfix. http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=108&t=35864&p=270426#p270426 Hopefully this will work for the others that tested it to - and Scott will roll it out. Cheers.
