September 18, 201312 yr 767 - boring 747 - I still haven't decided. Some days I do, and others I don't like it. 75 - Odd. Dunno, just odd. 77 - like, just do 78 - might grow on me. We'll see. 707, 727 simply gorgeous 73 was cute, then it got turned into a twin engined 707 and lost all it's charm. I'd be surprised if the 74 is out before the 6. (admittedly, there is personal bias there...) Mike Dryden

September 19, 201312 yr You gotta be kidding! The 747 is the most beautiful jumbo ever! The 747 is the only jumbo. Any airplane stops being ugly at the very moment you fly it, or when you come close to it either by someone letting you in the cockpit for enough time or when you have some sort of professional relationship with it (cabin crew, maintenance, flight student, MCC training, TRT). You can fall in love even with the 757 if any of those things happen to you. I grew up spending hours at my local airport watching the 737-200 after school. Hours and hours. It's my favourite airplane to date. Then I worked as cabin crew in 777s in Emirates. PMDG777 has brought back good memories (and some tears even). It's all about how one experiences a particular airplane Omar Josef 737/757/767

It's all about how one experiences a particular airplane True words my friend. I remember a quiet morning at KELM a couple weeks ago. I happened to see a CRJ-700 taxiing toward RW 24 and went to the fence less than 100 yards away. CRJ is one of those "yeah, it's cool I guess but pretty generic" planes cause I see them all the time. Well, like I said it was a very quiet morning and we watched it from just a couple hundred feet. The engine spool up just to get it rolling was impressive from that distance and the jet whine as it started the takeoff roll and subsequent thunder in the air that's hard to describe unless you hear and feel it was very memorable. It made me anxious for the DA/Aerosoft CRJ to be released. September 19, 201312 yr Ask any non aviation related person to name an plane....747 jumbo jet is what would come off their lips....or Concorde! The 747 is a beautiful plane, simply awesome, and truly resembles the amazing achievements we made in aviation. Its so iconic, it will put the 777 in the hangar the minute its released. (and quite simply on that fact alone is why we are unlikely to see it in 2 months time) Regards James Carr

It's all about how one experiences a particular airplane I don't mind being corrected by someone who is correct. I said "jumbo" not Jumbo as in "Jumbo Jet" as the original 747 was known as. According to wikipedia (I know, consider the source of course), the A380 for example is also considered a jumbo jet..."jumbo" seems to be an acceptable generic adjective describing a massive aircraft.
September 19, 201312 yr Even if PMDG finished the 747 V2 in the next couple of months, it wouldn't really make much business sense releasing it so soon after the 777. Luke Harvest
September 19, 201312 yr Well we aren't going to see it any time soon. My guess would be Q4 2014 - Q1 2015. Anyway I think the 747 is the most beautiful plane ever made and on top of all the best sounding plane in case of the GE variant. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqF1Ij3lQUc Arjen Vandervelde
September 19, 201312 yr I flew the PMDG 747 years ago because there wasn't much that offered the same level of realism. Later on LVL-D 767 and years after that the MD-11. Now the B777 is out there will be no plane add-on for me for a long while. I don't care much about the B747 anyway because the B777 is my airplane. Got to love those engines and the sounds coming from it. I will skip the B747 V2  Best regards, Stefan van Hierden
