Is it worth waiting for a patch/update?

I don't want to upset PMDG or other users, PMDG is my favorite developer and I have all their products they can verify me if they want. All I want is a smooth experience with my PMDG planes, thats all, so I can enjoy flying them!

I have all the expensive tube liners on the market (Aerosoft, Majestic, CS), none of them are causing stutter or FPS hit, my lowest FPS is 29.5 at a demanding airport like LFPG!

I see what you mean now, Albert.

I can't really say I share your experiences, though. On my side, the frames just drop a tad on resource intensive airports, but that's about it. It's still very smooth...

Also to note keep the mouse off any of the buttons to stop stutters or frame rate jumps - to see the effect it has open the CDU and then move the mouse across all the numberpad buttons and while looking out the window - watch the sim start to stutter do it long enough and youll see frame rates drop, before jumping up again once you moved mouse away again.

I run the I-7E processor from Intel...12GB of Ram...I have my video card set for 30fps...The 777 on my computer runs like flying in the real world. I use GEX, and REX...The plane after 3 or 4 hours of flying will freeze in mid-air for about 5 seconds then return to normal...Towards the end of a long flight it will start freezing more. I am not a engineer or computer expert so really don't understand what is happening. It has never frozen to the point I had to restart...YET!...

The one problem I have is running fsinn on Vatsim and the radio frequencies.  I have read the manual page 84-86,  and all the work-arounds. I still have to change the setting to "NEVER" in the simulator settings each time I start FSX...I have changed the config file, but that doesn't have any effect.

Also, when entering the ILS runway such as 25L for KLAS in the arrival rwy in the FMS,  it doesn't automatically change to the correct nav frequency, I have to do that manually......It always remains the same default freq. when 777 is loaded. Maybe, I miss read something. I had the impression that when you entered the ILS runway frequency the correct NAV frequency would be entered in the FMS.

.All in all, I have owned "all" the airplanes that PMDG built...I have enjoyed flying from the J41, B747, 737, and now the 777 which is there best.

On my modest rig I get the same performance as with the NGX, no changes necessary. I have not had a single OOM. The bugs related to the startup state is easy to fix just by making my own state. No brainer, just buy it, it is awesome.

I had bugs too when switching states.  My APU would indicate on but not function.  It was stuck.

I created my own panel state, and now I start up in that with no problems.  Other than that I don't notice any bugs so far.

At this point, I'm wondering what people really expect from FSX? Everything and much more has been said about its limitations. Came up here for the daily forum check and found the same debate over and over and over and over again.......And over again

I'd give you karma points if this forum worked that way.  One up vote for you.

Bob:

I just went through some tutorials (http://777Training.com) and if you go into the NAV RAD button ... press the DEL button and then press LSK 1 L ... press the DEL button again ... press LSK 1 R ... you clear out the little "M" and it should be replaced with a little "A" ... or something very close to that ... I'm working off memory here.  This means you are now out of manual tuning and into automatic tuning.

That's for both the VORs ... do the same with the ILS ... usually only needed for the cold&dark panel state ... you're welcome, Bob ... sorry, Charles ... couldn't resist ...   biggrin.png

If you look up my content, Charles - basically every post I submitted ended with my own "Olli-style" ...

So what you feel is (my) self-mockery.   dumb_me_s.gif
