January 7, 201412 yr I guess though if we expect RealAir/PMDG/A2A quality from Carenado... Expect about 1/5th as many releases? If the likes of PMDG or Majestic had been crafting this, the development time would have been much longer, and I can't help but think the compromises would have been ironed out. That last 10-20% worth of accuracy makes a sim plane exponentially better to many simmers, and sales figures usually reflect that. It would also cost twice as much. January 8, 201412 yr Some would argue that they are overpriced. I'm not sure if I agree or not I would disagree that the PMDG offerings are overpriced, look at the size of our community along with the research and development cost which goes into making a product like the NGX or 777. Tom "I just wanna tell you both: good luck. We're all counting on you."

Oh I was talking about Carenado. Yeah while PMDG may be expensive and other comparable products are cheaper once the sticker shock wears off its ok, which must mean its worth it. Sometimes the Carenado prices never wear off

Sometimes the Carenado prices never wear off Ah, this will be my first Carenado purchase. I guess it all depends on how much sentimental value is placed on an aircraft, otherwise I could see how people could sometimes be displeased. Tom "I just wanna tell you both: good luck. January 8, 201412 yr I'm reluctant to buy this one because the VC looks just like the VC of the B200. Could someone who has the B200 compare the B1900D to it and convince us of buying the B1900D?

If you hate the autopilot controls on the floor in the B200, the B1900 has the controls in the panel, in front of your eyes.. That is the only benefit that I can see. I have them both, and like the B200 better.. Bert
January 8, 201412 yr So far, on two flights the aircraft bobs up and down at cruise. It never settles nicely on the cruise altitude. I've also had the cabin altitude warning on both flights, even though my pressurization is set correctly.
January 8, 201412 yr Anyone having trouble getting interior lights to work? So far, on two flights the aircraft bobs up and down at cruise. It never settles nicely on the cruise altitude. I've also had the cabin altitude warning on both flights, even though my pressurization is set correctly. I don't have this issue during the cruise. She's light on her feet through some chop but once clear of weather I've found her to be quite stable in cruise.
January 8, 201412 yr You have to set the cruise altitude in the pedestal "big wheel" selector, that stopped the alert in my test flight. I,m having an alert "L ac" in the warning panel in red but my generators and every the ac selectors are in the correct position. I must be doing something wrong during the start-up, any idea? Best regards.

Best regards. I flipped the left AC tie switch and got it to go off - did not seem right though.. (no pun intended..) Also I get a zero reading on the overhead Voltage gauge.. must also be doing something wrong. Bert
January 8, 201412 yr So far, on two flights the aircraft bobs up and down at cruise. It never settles nicely on the cruise altitude Just wanted to throw in a note here to say that this sort of sounds like the reason I gave up flying the C90 and haven't purchased any more Carenados since - the nose of the C90 would just suddenly out of seemingly nowhere start to "hunt and seek" or "bob and weave" as it were, and I could rarely ever get it to settle down again once it got going. It almost felt like some form of dynamic instability, but I could never find any information on the subject or get through an entire flight without this cropping up. This 1900 really catches my eye for some reason (maybe because I saw it in its ERA incarnation on "Flying Wild Alaska"), and I am tempted to give it a shot, but I fear I would end up mothballing it like I did the C90...

Wonder what causes that on some installations. I've logged just under 130 hours in the C90 and have not seen that behavior, thank goodness. But I have had issues with other products that only seem to affect small numbers of users, so I understand the frustration and concern. I've had strange issues with lights and lighting issues on two aircraft (non-Carenado) that only a handful of others experience, but the experience is real, reproducible, and are the same. So they are real issues. And I and perhaps five other users had significant and identical issues with REX E+ in its early days. Those issues were fixed with beta releases around four months after the initial introduction and the source of the problems were never identified (to us). But chasing that issue with complex removal and re-installation processes cost me a great deal of flying time. January 8, 201412 yr Sounds like a motorcycle "tank slapper" Exactly! Being a rider that has experienced a dreaded "tank slapper" once, the analogy holds up well. The only thing I am hoping for at this point is that I have recently uninstalled AccuFeel from my system but never gone back to the C90 to see if the behavior was related. I think I will fire up the C90 next time and see if the situation has improved - if so, maybe a go with the 1900 might be in the cards...
January 8, 201412 yr Has anyone looked into the downloaded files to see if Carenado supplies a paint kit (white) with this model?
