Unfortunately it uses that Addon Manager 'thing' which i completely refuse to install on my PC. It's like a disease.

If they move to another type of protection scheme i'll buy it, if not... Oh well.

Wow, pretty big changelog.  Haven't fired up FSX in  awhile, but will be checking this VC refresh out.

I've never understood this irrational stance against "Addon Manager".

It installs automatically and prompts to run on startup the first time, but, it doesn't intrude very much beyond that. - Only occasionally does it prompt you within the sim to download and install an update. (You can ignore if you wish)

People that have issues with it should simply try to set it up correctly to avoid any problem with other addons or FSX itself. When correctly installed and running properly, Addon Manager goes unnoticed. Also, it offers several useful FSX.CFG customizations in a user friendly interface.

I'm sorry, i don't even want to get started on that Addon Manager stuff. If you like it, fine, go with it, i don't want that.... 'software' running on my PC. I rather have 20 viruses.

A python JIT compiler running in the background of my simulator? LOL.

Now back to the 757.

One thing i found annoying was the installation of FSUIPC without a option to say "No". As the latest version of FSUIPC has a different file name. I ended up with a CTD because of two instances of fsuipc running. No big deal, as I removed the QW installed one, but I must say I do not like installs that do not keep me in the loop.

Same here, that bothered me also.

I respect your fully logical and useful opinion. Thanks for the input.

I must say though, I am very impressed with the update. The overall quality has really gone up a notch.

I downloaded and installed the new SP. I have to say it delivered more than I expected! I especially like the redone VC and the new 3d sound system.
