April 26, 201412 yr Moderator Just picked this up, at 559MB, you know it's packed full of detail and looks and sounds incredible. There is a review here also http://xplanereviews.com/index.php?/topic/175-aircraft-review-bell-407-by-dreamfoil-creations/
April 26, 201412 yr Purchased with Paypal first thing this morning on the .org but no download link for me, just a link to the Bell407_README.html. Sent a mail but I imagine I'll have to wait until Monday for a reply. Not the end of the world just a little frustrating. :unknw:
April 26, 201412 yr I picked up the Alabeo r66 prior, not really a helo fan so I'm on the fence on getting another.

It's a little strange way of doing it, but you shouldn't need to wait.

Thanks Tony from thick but happy! :good: I think, on the aircraft itself, WOW!! I'm hugely impressed, worth the money no doubt! If you're on the fence about this aircraft I can say with confidence that you will be very pleased should you decide to purchase. This is one of the steps up and forward that make X-Plane an exciting place to be right now. My thanks to the developers, you'll have a customer in me for anything you might decide to develop in the future.

April 27, 201412 yr I picked up the Alabeo r66 prior, not really a helo fan so I'm on the fence on getting another.Me too, and immediately regretted it!I can just about manage to handle the default Bell, but I can hardly control the Alabeo at all on regular mode, and even switching to easy mode behaviour seems weird (unable to turn etc).

Ok ... what to do? Practise, practise, practise, ... and not to forget ... practise . Even if you think, "hey, I know perfectly how to handle a PMDG" - for helos you need at least tens of hours to be able to control them passably. You have to learn to FLY BY HAND :ph34r2: . My sceneries (excerpt): LPMA Madeira (XPFR), LGSR Santorini, LRBV Brasov, the city of Fürth (Germany), several libraries, ...

I can just about manage to handle the default Bell, but I can hardly control the Alabeo at all on regular mode, and even switching to easy mode behaviour seems weird (unable to turn etc). With the slightly greater level of difficulty though, comes a greater level of satisfaction when it starts to come together  . I tend to use a joystick coupled with a set of rudder pedals for best control but that's just me. I have in the past relied on twistgrip on a joystick and it works perfectly, I just find the use of the pedals helps with the immersion factor. I'm not an accomplished heli pilot by any means but I find the Bell very controllable.
