April 25, 201412 yr It may be a different sim .. but, today purchasing at e.g. Simmarket it says your $$ is for FSX and P3D products supported. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
April 25, 201412 yr WOAI is wonky, it really creates all sorts of mess in the Prepar3d directory with files going all over inside it. And one has to convert all old WOAI flightplans to FSX. I have them all, and I found a unique way to install them, but it is a management hell to keep up with the want you to download packages. It is hit or miss for me at this point. Skywolf, I don't have to do any manual edits to the flightplans or folders. Have you tried these instructions for using the WoAI installer: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/429255-woai-problems/?p=2882140
April 26, 201412 yr Why have a traffic ai program if the don't follow real world routes. I will be sticking with it2 until something better comes along. Scott KGPI
April 26, 201412 yr Why have a traffic ai program if the don't follow real world routes. Depends on what you want out of AI. I'm less concerned with authentic routes and schedules - really just want to have some activity going on (with the right airlines for a given location, yes, but not necessarily specific flights at specific times). And since I live and sim-fly in the Washington, DC area, it's nice to have the military AI in MyTraffic, since we have way more military activity here than in most other US metro areas. But if you do want schedules done to the letter, then clearly UT2 is the way to go for FSX (am not sure if it's street legal for P3D - might be, I just haven't checked). April 27, 201412 yr Chasing real flight schedules is just about impossible now. I work for a major US airline. There was a time many years ago, when we changed schedules twice a year. Once in the spring and once in the fall. Now, we may change schedules two to three times per month. It's almost impossible for the employees to keep up with the real life schedule changes much less a third party developer for Flight Sim.

April 27, 201412 yr MyTraffic 5.4b is working fine for me in P3D2. Followed the recommended install routine and didn't run the communicator. Also added the SimObjects/Paths line to the P3D.cfg at position #7 (I had problems when I added it in the final position). Just an impression, but MyTraffic seems to add more AI for a given traffic setting in P3D than it did in FSX. I had AI set at 20 percent in FSX but have dialed it back to 15 percent in P3D and traffic levels seem similar. That setting gives me a good balance between activity and performance. Agree that MTX 5.4b works in P3D2. I think 5.4c has issues. If you load/run an AI schedule, your traffic will diminish as aircraft. I have a massive amount of traffic at 20 percent. I did not have the problem you had with the SimObjects/Paths. I have always had mine at 9 (the last position). I just wish I didn't have to copy the FSX MyTrafficX folder over to the P3D folder as the size is over 11 gigs. I tried to show the path in SimObjects but it wouldn't work. Perhaps I can just have a folder like MyTraffic/SimObjects and then link the folder in the FSX folder to P3D. Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! April 27, 201412 yr Author Firehawk, could you expand on the instructions how to install MTX into P3DV2.2 for me. What do you have to configure, ect? Thanks Regards Lamar Wright
April 27, 201412 yr P3Dv2.2 is a stable product, it is Burkhards PC's that are unstable. He has tried to get it to run on four PC's now and failed every time, that tells its own story in my opinion. Here : http://forum.simflight.com/topic/76729-issues-with-p3d-v2-please-help/ I posted to Burkhard on his problem of installing P3D on his PC: "I read your post on P3D forum. I have Win7-64 and have not had any problems installing or activating P3D v1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 2.0, 2.1 or 2.2. I noticed you mentioned you have Win 8 and and later a fresh install of Win 8 and and update to Win 8.1. Do you think some of your problems with the P3D installer was your Win8 PC? Possibly MyTrafficX is having some problem with Win8 also?" His reply was: Well, 8.1 is the actual OS, we have to support it, and I'm stuck with development since months due to this crappy unfinished software and now a non existing user support... ******* Here I asked when a P3Dv2.2 installer would be available : http://forum.simflight.com/topic/76762-mytraffic-x-professional-installer-for-p3d-v22/ His reply: "Sorry cannot comment since even after a fresh install of the OS and Installation of P3D as first software I don't have P3D V2 running, since they are not capable to reset the activation within 3 days - then I can see it it runs at all. So in the optimistic scenario that I have it running soon, I can start to make a list of issues, then work on fixing them, so a first beta might be in august if all works best, second in september and any support for P3D V2 in october - that is the most optimistic scenario... April 27, 201412 yr Firehawk, could you expand on the instructions how to install MTX into P3DV2.2 for me. What do you have to configure, ect? Thanks Just copy the MyTraffic folder in the main FSX folder over to the main Prepar3D folder. Open up the P3D.cfg and add the following to [Main] UserObjects: SimObjectPaths.9=MyTraffic\Aircraft. Start up P3D and open up the Scenery Library. Add the MyTraffic/Scenery folder to the Scenery Library and move it down to just above Propeller Objects. Open up the P3D Settings page and go to the Traffic page and set your AI to 20%. Go Fly. Do not use the MyTraffic Communicator (you don't need to). Do not engage any schedules and use the MyTraffic defaults. It might be best to restart P3D after adding MyTraffic/Scenery to your Scenery Library. You can also add it via the addon SceneryConfigEditor which I use to enable or disable addon scenery. Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! April 27, 201412 yr I basically just want to see more commercial traffic at major airports. In FSX I had traffic set at about 48% and saw tons of aircraft at CYVR. Under P3Dv2.2 at 48% is see very little traffic. I don't want to run schedules....just want to see traffic. What issues does World of AI have with P3Dv2.2?? Ken

April 28, 201412 yr @ Ken, none really - WoAI works fine, package installer and all (see the link to the instructions I posted on the previous page).
April 28, 201412 yr @ Ken, none really - WoAI works fine, package installer and all (see the link to the instructions I posted on the previous page). Thanks, Dylan....somebody had mentioned earlier WoAI left a trail of entries in the P3D cfg. Ken
May 1, 201412 yr Hey, thanks very much Jim, I really appreciate your help. I'll get started now. I forgot one other step. You need to disable the default traffic if you do not want to see default traffic. Go to the main Prepard3v2 folder then scenery/world/scenery. Rename trafficAircraft.bgl to trafficAircraft.bgl.passive (or just add passive to the end). Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
