The site looks good, but I would expect anything calling itself "the best of anything for 2014" to really mean something at the end of 2014.

 

Good point. Although I will continue to update it throughout 2014 as other good addons are released, so it will be up to date. So technically, it will be the "best" aircraft available for FSX in 2014. The "best" part is more of an eye catcher thing, and it is subjective for sure, but it might be one of those necessary "evils".

 

Excellent effort, handy site for the new flight simmer or someone looking to step up into the intermediate category.

 

Couple of very minor points.

 

- Only the Pilot version of the Majestic Dash 8/Q400 is currently available.

- Sim Brief is an excellent flight planning tool, and free.

- Aivlasoft Electronic Flight Bag is a tremendous tool.

- Would be nice to note what is free and what is payware.

I really like the fair and neutral way the addons are presented, and that it is a database of many well known payware addons, but IMO this list is not complete: Many excellent freeware addons are not presented at all

 

 

Thanks for the feedback. I might include freeware addons in the future, but the site is primarily for people who want to get "serious" about their hobby and start spending a little money.

 

Milviz actually appears near the end of the list ("Other military addon developers to check out") - what about their B732, though? Is it military???

 

But there are big holes in that list, for example:

- the CS classics like their C-130 (their L-1011 is mentioned, though)

- Aerosoft Airbus Extended

- Active Sky 2012 is mentioned; ASN is not? (ASN features described, but the only product name stated is AS2012)

- LHSimulations is missing

 

 

Most should be fixed now ! Thanks for pointing it out. And to the Milviz guys, I will probably do a more thorough summary / mention of you guys pretty soon. ;-)

Great list.  I will point beginners your way when asked.

I would suggest adding a some of the small developers (most of them one man) who make some great exotic and obscure planes..  Maybe they are too esoteric compared to more well known types lol.  Perhaps an Vintage/Obscure genre  could be its own category lol.  Also in your GA category, I would note the RealAir Legacy which is quite popular and somewhat of a benchmark for the GA Single addon.
