I found the module in their website. In the FAQ it mentions the module in question, so I went to modules and deleted it. Again, I am dissapointed. Some of the planes in their corporate pilot and private pilot series for FS2k and FS2k2 are still enjoyable in a sense.I was not expecting a lot for $10.00 and if the frame rate hit had not been so terrible, it still might be on my hard drive. However, when you're flying a beast like the A380 sub 10 frame rates and choppyness on approach will not make for a pleasant experience.I just wished I knew exactly what was eating up the CPU cycles. Heck, I hadn't even touched the FMC....

I'm surprised that Airbus uses Boeing radios :-) in their newest bird. Seriously, I think the cockpit layout is more or less fictional. Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt that there is enough information available to the public to build a serious simulation of an A380 at this time.Regards, Tom.

Regarding that, on the screenshots, I had feeling that the gauges were the ones from default MS Boeing... Or at least very similar.Especially the PFD and the ND.Im curious and suspicious about the performance/FDE of this aircraft, too.

Hi thereWhile i agree about most of the comments about Abacus and their products i have to put in a word about the superb Vickers VC- 10 which is a bargain probably worth twice the price, Also i must mention their EZ-VFR and EZ-Landmarks utilitys and Fs Repaint and FSDS.So it is not all bad stuff from them.

It's amazing companies like Abacus stay in business with the type of junk they put out on the market.

(Abacus Systems www.abacus.org) Its definately not the same company who are offering the "poor freeware" quality payware.I remember people saying how it was unfortunate that the person who created the VC10 had chosen the name Abacus!

Par I don't know where you live but you have to remember that due to the war, the American dollar isn't worth what it used to be. People still have to get paid. For Americans buying products from say Lago, it

You are right about the Vickers VC-10, however, EZ-VFR, EZ-Landmarks, FSDS and FS Repaint are all from the same 'Abacus' that released the A380. That is what is so frustrating about this company. You can't get a "feel" for their quality. Some of their products, such as the EZ line are pretty revolutionary and cool, whereas others, such as Sky Ranch and the A380 are sub par.If they could just get consistent quality, then I think most of us would lay off of them.PMDG offers an entry level aircraft with the 1900D and for what it is, it is almost uniformly accepted as a fine entry level, easy to fly plane. Abacus could find their own niche as well. I prefer 'easy' planes to complex system simulators, I don't have the time nor the inclination to learn about every bell and whistle on a flight deck. Flight Simulator for me is pure fantasy. As a result, I like planes that are 'easy' to pickup so that I can more easily feel 'experienced'.I would welcome much more of Abacus offerings if they approached the quality of the PMDG Express line. The A380 has a fine exterior model, but the cockpit looks less authentic than the default 737 panel, and the performance is unforgivable.

I'll third that, this is no place for your political opinions. If you would like to learn the cold hard truth though I would be happy to discuss it with you elsewhere. Here is a copy of the e-mail I just sent to Abacus. The PMDG 1900D clearly shows there is a market for high quality, easy to fly, aircraft. Abacus is in a position to corner that market. That is, if they follow PMDG's example. To Whom it May Concern: I hate to write this to you, but Abacus is one of the most frustrating companies I have ever dealt with.I make this statement after trying your newest offering, the A380.I am used to seeing high quality products from you, such as your EZ line (EZ-Landmarks,EZ-VFR, etc.) and your FSDS and FS-Repaint programs. In the era of Flight Sim 98 and 2000, you guys were at the top of your form, and the company to beat. But lately, many of your offerings are a shell of their former selves.Take for instance your A380. The cockpit fonts are worse than those seen in your Corporate Pilot or Private Pilot packages from 1999. The Altimeter is broken in the digital portion of your display refuses to show thousands, and only shows hundreds. And worse of all, the entire package brings my FS2004 to a stuttering mess. It took me all of 5 minutes to decide to uninstall this "premier" plane. While I appreciate the ability to "fly before you buy" and the very reasonable price of $10 for the package, quite frankly, many freeware authors have developed much more polished models and panels and have posted them on sites such as AVSIM.COM and FLIGHTSIM.COM.PMDG, the maker of some pretty high end systems simulations also offers an express line with high quality visuals, decent flight model, and authentic flight deck, while still being aimed at the beginning to moderate simmer, and at a reasonable price of $15 (USD). While I don't wish Abacus to move to high end system simulations (I enjoy your "easy to fly" aircraft), it should be noted that at the very minimum the aircraft must be reasonably bug free and have good performance, not cut a persons frame rates by 33% or moreWhat is frustrating is that I know that you too are capable of similar quality, but it seems that you are stuck in the late 90's and feel that what was good for FS98, is good for FS2004.You couldn't be more wrong. As the quality of Flight Simulator has improved logrithmically since 1999, so too has the quality of both freeware and commercial software.Perhaps you feel that the entry level simmer won't know well enough to visit sites such as AVSIM or FLIGHTSIM. Perhaps you feel that you can make your dollar by producing sub-standard, buggy software. If that is your stance, then I am truly sorry. If, however, you have the slightest concern about quality, then I suggest you download PMDG's Beech 1900D and get an idea of what is expected of commercial software in the $10 to $15 dollar price range. While I appreciate the hard work you have placed in some of your other products, I can honestly say that the A380 would not stay on my hard drive if it was given away. Especially since many freeware offerings are of better quality than yours. Please don't take this the wrong way. I really have enjoyed your products in the past, but it is really time to move beyond what made you a household name in the Flight Sim community in the late 90's and start bringing up your standards of quality to match those of 2005. Buggy, poor performing software can't be given away in today's day and age, much less charged for.A concerned former customer.

Nicely written, Will. I agree with everything. Now I'm curious if they will even bother to reply...
