July 3, 201411 yr Commercial Member Consider this the flag. You can just re-download it from the Carenado site. I think downloads are reset in the case of an update, but I'm not 100% sure. Either way, if you need more downloads, that can be looked at via Carenado's customer support ticket system.
July 3, 201411 yr Yes i downloaded it again last night and it is the updated one. Is there a manual for the GNS530 anywhere? Also Dan, you mentioned somewhere with the King Air it wasn't possible to get the rain effect and keep the window tinting at the same time and that seems to be the same for the 260. Unfortunately it seems like XP still isn't very good at telling the planes rain is falling on it as frequently I've got rain outside but no rain effects on the windscreen (although there's also no tinting so presumably the plane's aware rain's in the vicinity somewhere). JRollion had a nice effect on his Mentor - if you click the compass on the windshield it turns the rain effect on and off manually. Is it possible to do this with your planes? i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea

Garmin 430/530 Sample Training Syllabus and Flight Lessons What Carenado's planes do is, they fade the rain out at higher speeds… so, rain may be falling in X-Plane, but it won't be staying on the windshield if you're flying too fast. What we have is a sensor, which tells us how much rain is falling in X-plane, so during light rain we have small, light droplets, while during heavy rain we have larger drops that end up crawling down the windshield (if the plane is stationary), and move outward and upward as the plane picks up speed. This is already more than most payware planes have to offer. Now, in real life, you may see long streaks forming along the windshield at higher speeds, as the water gets blown off. However, these effects are still quite difficult to achieve in 3D, especially in a sim that does not support real-time resizing of geometry. Plus, it should be pointed out that the FSX counterparts of these planes don't have rain effects on the windshields at all. Effects such as rain are likely to see improvement as time goes on. Maybe we'll see improved tools for these types of effects in the future as well.
July 4, 201411 yr so if i see any rain drops at all on the glass it means I have the latest version then?...in other words in version 1.0 I would see no rain drops at all? Dave Kalin Excel Classes Computer Lessons
July 4, 201411 yr Now Im thinking I must have a problem with the raindrops in both the c206 and B200. In the Cessna206 they are completely static and never move. In the B200 I dont even get any on the front window at all...only the side windows (and it is static as well). I am running 10.30b5. I also noticed window reflections automatically get turned off when its raining, but when its clear they dont automatically go back to the original setting of "on". July 4, 201411 yr Commercial Member Raindrops should look like in this video of the C90: or this video of the PA-46: The main difference between the two is that the C90 (and the B200) have wipers, while the PA-46 and the C206 don't.
July 4, 201411 yr Commercial Member I can confirm that the raindrops in my 1.1 version are static, too: A static texture without movements, unlike the C90 where they move (Using the beta for GNS530 in XP10.30b5). Edit: Ok, it seems this is correct, looking at the Piper video where it looks the same ... I guess I miss the slowly buildup of the drops on the windshield, and their movement from (instead of juat fading out of) the windshield. But it's not that important, though. July 4, 201411 yr I switched back to the first version. Other than the loudness (which didn't change in the second version), things just seem to work better. I am not too overwhelmed with rain drops and they do not work like the ones in the C90, but that doesn't make the aircraft in my estimation. I was happy before and still am, but back to the first release. Were there other changes which I should go back and check out? John John Wingold
July 4, 201411 yr Commercial Member Were there other changes which I should go back and check out? Yes. For example, now the engine sound volume changes correctly when you open the cockpit window. (Gets louder when you open it.) Before, that did not work. And the ground behavior seems to be improved, too. Mario Donick .:. vFlyteAir
July 4, 201411 yr Dan, how do you know whether you have the new version. I re-downloaded as indicated via your post but nothing seems to have changed. Pursuant to Mario, above, his sounds change when outside of the cockpit. Mine don't. Is there some indicator that tells us we have version two? Thank you again sir and I do love you all's work. I have a whole fleet from you guys.. Pivot Regards,Pivoti9-10900k * 64Gb Ram * MSI RTX 4070 Ti Gaming X Trio * Steel Series Arctis Pro Wireless Headset * Win11 Home x64 * Beam ET * TM Warthog Combo, Honeycomb Alpha & Saitek Pro-Rudders
July 4, 201411 yr Commercial Member Pitot, I said sounds change inside when window is opened and closed. You can confirm you have v1.1 when you see raindrops when standing still in rainy weather. Mario Donick .:. vFlyteAir
July 4, 201411 yr Oh thank you Mario, will check. I don't seem to have the cursor click ability either.. Let me throw in a storm or two.. ;-) Pivot Holy smoke, I'm getting tossed around like a Frisbee.. I do have raindrops though and the sound change with the window open.. Still no cursor control though. Thank you Mario you were spot on..
