Carenado Turbo CT206H STATIONAIR HD SERIES is out!

How would you compare this plane to Carenado's 210 offering? Are they both good flyers?

IMHO it is much better. It flies pretty level, doesn't need a lot of rudder control in turns and has quite a balloning tendency at landing. IMHO one of the best Carenados to fly.

This plane flies great.  Without much adjustment (if any), it flies level.   One of the first I have used that didn't require any aileron trim.  I don't have the 210 to compare.

Hmmm, is there any torque ? And if there is which direction does the torque make the plane roll ?  I was a little disappointed with 172RG, the torque made the plane roll to the right. Which would be backwords if I am not mistaken.

I just shut that computer down, but I believe it is to the left and is not as dominate as it is in most other aircraft...  It is easily controllable and you do not find yourself all over the runway if you were watching something else.

So would you guys recommend this plane as one of the best GA planes for X-Plane?

Yes. I simpl like to fly this plane, The Garmin 530 is nice and the flight behaviour is good.and needs only tiny corrections to compensate the torque.

Well I will give it a shot as soon as the patch gets here...I have to say that their customer service leaves me feeling taken care of instead of screwed over...Since I was unhappy with the Piper350 they were kind enough to let me swap it for the V35 Bonanza (at my request)...so now, for Xplane I have their B200, V35 and I will buy the C206 when its patched as well.

The one thing that tends to really bother me about xplane is how windy/turbulent conditions on final can really ruin your flight. I mean it's like your plane turns into a "paper airplane" if you guys know what I mean and your just swung all over the sky left/right/up/down...its nearly impossible to control and feels like all you can do is hang on...but if the plane shook all over like this in real life you'd be losing your dinner for sure...might even bang yer head on the ceiling...yik! Sort of like heavy wake turb only it wasnt.

It was like this 15 years ago when I first tried xplane so I guess they havent done too much to their flight dynamics engine since then :-)

Well that's mainly a result of the guess work that is the result of the METAR weather reports. For a real weather simulation they leave a lot to be desired. And I must say I haven't seen this so dramatically sincwe 10.25 and 10.30, unless the normal weather report already talked about weather conditions where you don't want to use a GA plane.

The CT206 will include rain effects in the next version, which will be out by next week, in all likelihood.  There will also be some bug fixes and other improvements, including being able to set frequencies to 0.005 in the GNS530.

Hi Dan...is this the 1.1 update that you talked about in another post  as being already released last night?

Yes. If you purchased the CT206 from Carenado's website prior to yesterday,  you will have v1.0.  The updated version went out to resellers last night, and the Carenado site should also have an updated version.  (Any file in the package with a date later than June 19 should indicate you have v1.1).

Just curious, will there be any sales for the 4th of July Independence day?

I bought the CT206H, I think the first day it came out.  My account at Carenado does not indicate an update.  I guess I could download and compare numbers, but I only have 3 downloads...  I guess I will have to wait for the flag...

Just picked it up last nite (7/2). I noticed when you reload the aircraft you get the engine shut down sound looping endlessly. Sounds are quite loud and the transition from low rpm to high isnt exactly a smooth one (sound wise I mean...sort of jumps from low rpm sound to high very quickly).

Also I see raindrops in the glass but Im not sure theyre animated...are they?...the fps for this takes a giant hit though.

How can I tell if I have 1.1 or 1.0?

They have updated, although the link doesn't inidicate it. And don't worry soi much about the 3 downloads. You would simply have to contact the Carenado support.

Karsten Schubert

Same here John, standing by until the update flag is waived..
