June 27, 201411 yr Ok Nick, thank you...sounds promising so I will check it out. Which plane was this by the way?...oh, and before I forget I did have 1 more question for anyone who knows....is there anyway to do WAAS approaches in X-plane yet? Dave Kalin Excel Classes Computer Lessons
June 27, 201411 yr paula: The CT206 uses a panel texture of 2048x2048, as opposed to most other planes in X-Plane, payware and otherwise, which use 1024x1024. This is due to the need for space to accommodate for not only two GNS430s (in X-Plane 10.25 mode) but also a GNS530 (for X-Plane 10.30 mode). What this does is, it distorts the default cockpit view, especially when you use an ultra-wide aspect ratio, as would be the case with three 27" monitors. To fix this, you'll have to open the aircraft in X-plane and go to "Standard>Viewpoints>view" and increase the value for the default screen centre: "View Center Y Panel View". A value of 1500-1600 might work. thank you very much , this explains a lot. paula
June 27, 201411 yr Commercial Member The CT206 will include rain effects in the next version, which will be out by next week, in all likelihood. There will also be some bug fixes and other improvements, including being able to set frequencies to 0.005 in the GNS530.
June 28, 201411 yr The GNS 530 modeled in the CT206H works better than any GPS I have used in any flight simulator. It will fly you directly to the point of where you line up with the selected runway where (and this works just as the real one does according to the instructions I downloaded) you can manually switch to (VLORS) and have the autopilot pick up the ILS. I believe the real unit will automatically switch or allow you to do it manually, but this thing works great. I cannot duplicate that in the 430 used in other aircraft. John John Wingold

Unfortunately the 'like' function has disappeared from this site so I'll just have to do it the old-fashioned way and tell you that I 'like' what you say here. i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea
June 29, 201411 yr Moderator I picked this up yesterday and it's a great aircraft. The 10.30 GPS works nicely inside the cockpit and really adds realism. I found it a little heavy on the frames, but then in typical Carenado style, everything in the cockpit is very nicely modeled to a high detail, so I guess this can be expected. Also, it's very easy to fly
June 29, 201411 yr It IS a great aircraft. The only complaint I might have is IT IS LOUD! I use headphones because the wife doesn't like hearing "that drone" and, if I don't remember to turn down the sound before flying, I am really blasted. Is the real aircraft this loud? None of the other Carenado aircraft I have do this. I also noticed a volume control in the little "O" popup..?? John John Wingold
June 29, 201411 yr The engine certainly is loud but the flaps make no noise at all when moving which is very different to every other Carenado I have. i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea
June 30, 201411 yr You can turn the engine volume down, or up, by the volume knob on the comm radio.. It helps.. June 30, 201411 yr Commercial Member Not to worry… the default interior sounds will be turned down for the next version… due for release over the next few days.
July 1, 201411 yr danklaue, thanks for the update. Been curious to get my hands on this plane. I'll wait for the updated version before I buy. July 1, 201411 yr Hey fellas, nobody has mentioned yet how well it fly's :-)...uhm, does it? How would you compare this plane to Carenado's 210 offering? Are they both good flyers? Dave Kalin Excel Classes Computer Lessons
July 1, 201411 yr This plane flies great. Without much adjustment (if any), it flies level. One of the first I have used that didn't require any aileron trim. I don't have the 210 to compare. John John Wingold
