Isn't it about time for a v1.3? ;) Anyone know if the product is still being updated?

There is a beta 1.3 yet to be released. Probably delayed because of holiday season. I don't have the beta but know someone who does.

Is it known what benefits the update might bring? I think it was hinted awhile ago that there might be some real time LOD manipulation.

I'm not aware of that. As is usual with these things it's probably best for the developers to make the announcement rather than coming from me. I'm only aware of one feature. There may be more.

They did talk (openly) about another product but there's been no announcement about that yet.

Hi all,

Hope the best to all. We got back from holidays and threw ourselves to work on Fiber. We will have many more news this month, but for the moment:

NEWS:

Today version 1.3 rolled out.

Its main features :

- A reworked GUI.

- Internal code improvements

- The new AGL cycle mode :  User creates 3 layers of altitude (i.e. up to 5000ft AGL, 5000 to 10000ft and 10000ft and above ) and assigns the 3 presets on each.

So when he flies at or below 5000ft AGL the "Lower frames" will be active , from 5 to 10 thousand feed the "Middle frames" will be active and from 10000ft AGL and above Fiber will get "deactivated status". That way there is no need to cycle manually from one preset to the other as all is done automatically.

Additionally a delay is set while switching between two modes : i.e. Lower target 20 , Middle target 30. Instead of doing the change immediately, user (in AGL mode) can select the rate of change (in fps) from one preset to the other. So if he sets 1fps the change - on this example - will last 10 seconds , and the transition will be smoother.

- (For registered FSUIPC) Some FSUIPC offsets (3) added so user can now select each preset with a different button.

- Some initial work has been done on OEM errors (see also below). Nothing solid yet however.

** Of course a new demo ( 5 uses x 60minutes each ) is available on most webstores.

MORE NEWS...

Probably also before September ends... A Prepar3D and a bundle (FSX&P3D) version will roll out too.

YES we had full success on that, Prepar3D works on a similar way. Lockheed had made MANY changes to the graphic engine "little" details , however , and it needs a lot work to "decode" all this stuff, so we run a little late on our ETA.

But it is 'doable' and will be done soon, we can confirm that.

Plus we will continue our work to try to eliminate "FSX user worst nightmare of the last decade" those cursed OEM errors. We had some promising results during testing, we are up to it, but "we will see".

I like the G.U.I. of 1.3

This is only getting better and better....great program!

I got 1.3, Installed and tested briefly. I noticed that while FA says it says AGL on all buttons and the description in the manual (and in my mind's eye), it actually seems to work per MSL instead. I would prefer AGL but see no way to change it.

Scenario - Locked 30, Mid 24@10000, Low 18@2000. Sitting at KABQ I am at 2ft AGL but ~5300ft MSL. I want the lower frame rate but it's at my mid setting.

Is this just me? Do I not understand the AGL/MSL concept?

Edit: It's real. I also get a system error when closing FSX after forgetting to close FA 1st. Some error accessing something I've never seen before, closed it before I wrote it down. Anyways, went back to 1.2 for right now until others chime in. My system is overclocked and there's no telling what sort of timing or memory access methods could have changed, therefore I won't judge yet.

Time for a new thread, hey?

Not yet as FSPS is already working on a hot fix, which might be ready by tomorrow.

I obviously didn't check their forum first. Not one of my frequent destinations. Thanks RudiJG1 for the heads up.

hi,

I have a question. I read that Fiber Accelerator changes in real time some tweaks, for example, FIBER FRAME FRACTION or Reject Threshold.

This means that Fiber Accelerator need a clean file fsx.cfg to run correctly?

What if these or other tweaks existing in fsx.cg file? Interfere for proper operation of Fiber Accelerator?

greetings

As previously said (multiple times) we disregard fsx.cfg . Fiber Accelerator works directly talking with FSX Graphic's engine and doesn't care for whatever tweak you had inserted or not.

The only thing fsx.cfg has to do with the application is that Fiber is saving the correct Frame Target value in case you quit FSX while fiber had set internally FSX's frames to unlimited. Because FSX when closing saves the actual value Target FPS, we avoid that (to save "unlimited" ) by restoring the actual fsx.cfg you previously were using.

Since v1.3 is released and a new topic started, it's time to close this thread so that all discussions and questions may take place in a single thread:
