Has LM released a "punch list" of changes and fixes in Ver. 2.3 yet?

Yes, see my prior response ... about 150-200 items and they will be contained in the P3DV2 Learning Center document that I'm sure everyone has read ;) ... too many to list, you'll just have to wait for release and read it

Thanks, That is exciting to hear. I have been using ver 2.2 and for the life of me, I could never come up with 150-200 complaints and so I expect many of them to be tweaks and improvements. Looking forward to it!!!

Question about the "must have" trim wheel.

You've got one ... unless you want a larger one or your current one doesn't provide fine adjustments?  You can Trim with anything to be honest ... prior to the wheel I used to trim with buttons, but I find the wheel to be so much more precise and easier to get the aircraft properly trimmed without chasing it.

Yes a little, there are also some tweaks you can do to a "certain file" that can adjust that overall.

Would that be the adjustable bloom that was referenced in the Learning Centre?

Question about the "must have" trim wheel. I have the Multi Panel and it includes a trim wheel. Do you think I still need an EXTRA trim wheel?

I have a saitek trim wheel and its a pain - have to keep rotating the crap out of it to get it to work so now its sits doing nothing - here is an idea I came up with and works perfect I use one of my throttle levers for trim bam problem solved - over & out

Once you "wake it up" on certain AC, it's worked fine for me ... you got calibration sensitivity at max and null zone at min for it?  A trim wheel is supposed to have a long range of motion, that's where it gets the precision comes from.  I've used throttle levers before but they tiny movements make massive changes in trim.

No, docs reference a slider that doesn't exist (at least not in my version Pro Plus) ... I believe that value is in the prepar3d.cfg ... BLOOM_LEVEL=2  (default).  What I'm talking about is in one of the shader files GPUTerrain.fx.

Cheers, Rob.

Oh, OK. I was just wondering if they enabled bloom adjusting because as far as I know, different BLOOM_LEVEL values have no effect.

yeah reading a manual and flight planning isn't on the cards ... load up a test, toss in an aircraft, cross my fingers I can start it, hope I don't stall on take-off, keep pressing buttons until the idiot lights go out, hope I don't crash on landing, and if I'm lucky try to get the autopilot working.

LOL, sounds frighteningly familiar! Great video (again) Rob, your work keeps shining on.

Agree, but who's criticizing?  You lost me there ... I do get criticized on my "flying" on YouTube all the time but doesn't bother me, at least they are showing interest.

Nobody in this thread. I was referring to comments that I have seen in the past (including ones directed at me).

In respects to the nVidia support of SLI or whatever else in P3D. They have priorities before going to SLI. SLI is usually something you support after everything else is stable as well. Did they promise some kind of date when SLI would be supported?

Also nVidia tend to partner with certain game development companies that favor code for their hardware. They even loan a fleet of machines to the dev team. These usually are games that have nVidia logos on the splash screens on startup.

LM won't get the prioritization that nVidia offers with game companies probably because it's a whole new ball of wax when it comes to sims. The optimization for games does not remotely equal a sim like P3D. Doesn't mean they won't work with them though, it's probably just a whole new different challenge.

And yes, Flight simming is a niche. It's a unique niche. But a very small niche, even compared to train simulation (which maybe Dovetail will change that, I don't know)

Outstanding work and dedication Rob, but...24 FPS with a Titan, seriously?

I'm sure you got a top_of_the_line CPU too.

Yes, several times.

Agree, it's a big technical challenge ... I disagree on priority of SLI, in my humble opinion it is extremely important to get SLi working both at a consumer and professional level ... SLI would reduce system costs (SLI is a much less expensive solution that multiple computers) for motion simulators and reduce the complexity and be much more able to hit "required" FPS target for FAA approval.

Well just have to disagree on the niche also ... just look around at all the supporting 3rd party ... just too big to be a small niche.

Cheers, Rob.

Look at the settings he's using.

I linked the settings I used and all the add-ons used, seems pretty good to me.  No, my CPU is now 3rd Gen and not top-of-the line ... I'm waiting for X99 chipset to arrive in "mass" later this month or next.

Please, not another round of FPS, haven't you folks beaten this horse to death already - gotta be something else you want to talk about?  I really don't care about FPS so long as there is no input lag and the time between frames are consistent.

Cheers, Rob.

I did!

Interesting, so is that something LM is working on?
