October 9, 201411 yr I see that Active SkyNext has had an upgrade. Isn't this a free upgrade? If not, what do all of you Next users think about the upgrade. Stan

October 10, 201411 yr Stan, If you own AS Next please update with the free Service Pack 1. You will notice a large difference in your weather.
October 10, 201411 yr Yup I noticed the difference straight away, didn't have much choice in not to update since when I ran asn the pop up warning appeared would you like to upgrade to the new version. So if you got asn you would have gotten this as well I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg

October 10, 201411 yr Seems much better in regard to turbulence to me, especially in the majestic dash. It was only a single flight I base that on, but that was my impression. Encountered a thunderstorm and it was very nice indeed.
October 10, 201411 yr Commercial Member I didn't saw any differences so far with SP1 trial last night. TBH the weather was nice, but turbulence was strong and C172 was behaving like a paper plane, impossible to control. MAybe Accufeel turbulence setting is a bit high (60)? I'm always confused will Accufeel ENHANCE the ASN turbulence, or ADD more turbulence, or CHANGE how airplane behaves in turbulent situations, I don't know. Anyway, Cessna was uncontrollable how heavy and choppy turbulence was. Any thoughts? Unfortunately helicopters behave a bit strange if i set the enhanced turbu feature. Tried with the Virtavia Seaking. Gotta test some more choppers Greetz MJ My youtube blog________________________Prepar3D v2.5/v3
October 10, 201411 yr Yes, you definitely don't want two applications both competing to provide turbulence. One or the other. ASN does it admirably.
October 10, 201411 yr Yes, I noticed turbulence straight away - something I'm relieved about. I've had a few flights in GA planes and that random buffet as you climb through the layers is always there. My flying always seemed to clean and flat before. - Paul Elliott http://www.avsim.com/topic/450607-amy-johnson-london-to-australia-attempt/

Anyway, Cessna was uncontrollable how heavy and choppy turbulence was. Any thoughts? Dear lord, that's what was going on. I was scratching my head as to why my C210 was all over the place this morning. Really need to figure out what the right setting is. Their default wake turbulence setting has been vastly overdone...I was a mile behind a single engine Beechcraft in my C210 and it sent me into the ground next to the runway. Not even remotely close! Maybe they've worked on it? I have to say, the yawing motion you get with turbulence is just completely wrong. You can get quick rolls about the axis and bumps in any direction...but a yaw? October 11, 201411 yr Best of all .. I just noticed today on my epic Amy Johnson flight, that ASN have now included an ASN Weather Request in flight popup menu, from the menu bar. It includes current weather at your location or at the nearest weather station/airport and also winds aloft data for you current location, all without pausing the flight. Great stuff! - Paul Elliott http://www.avsim.com/topic/450607-amy-johnson-london-to-australia-attempt/
