[09OCT14] PMDG 777 200/300 SP1c is pending...

Recommended Posts

pipe down!

Am happy to wait 6 months if that's what it takes. I don't ask for dates do I, if you read am asking them to stop posting them.

Seems the point is just to hard to grasp?

David, I do get the point. I also know that problems occur, life gets in the way sometimes and things get held up.

Since summer I was trying to get some work done on my car. I told my wife that the job would be easy, I would get the time and I would get it done on time that I gave a specific date. Unfortunately things always seemed to get in the way, then when I did get time I hit problem after problem, missed the day. I could have not given a date and my life would have been easy, but I had the best intentions at heart and had my wife asking for a date. She knew it was a estimated date and when it passed she did not complain.

The point is that she asked for a date so I gave her a date, I could have said nothing but she would have kept asking. I thought I would hit the date but things happened and I missed it. PMDG has the same problem, they mention a product and get slaughtered for not giving an estimated date, then when they miss the estimated date they get people like you that moan that they should not give dates. They estimated a date but unfortunately, for what ever reason, they missed it. If they had not mentioned it then they would have had people on here saying "where's the update".

In Robert's initial post in this thread, made 1 week ago, he gave a 2-5 day time frame "depending on how things go". It wasn't a hard and fast promise of a specific day. Obviously the update needs a bit more work - thus, the "depending" comment.

David,

May I suggest that you just pipe down a little. The aim of your post appears to be just provocative. You will not receive the product any earlier, and you may be the first to complain if it is not bug free.

I know that you fully realise that the more complex a development the more likely it is to slip its schedules. You didn't explain in your post that you are selling only a product a lot simpler than the B777.

Don't forget that one of the elements of SP1C will be to support Bryan's FS2Crew 777, and we know that he is under pressure to complete. All of the contributing teams are busting a gut because their incomes depend on it.

If I have missed a point that you are making, then please say so.

Regards, Richard

Well said sir.  wise words.

Seems the point is just to hard to grasp?

Or maybe we all grasp it, but still don't agree with you.

If they provide dates, and they then don't pan out .... SO WHAT?

Is your life depending on those dates in some way?    What is the impact to you when they've promised a date and the product turns out not to be ready on that date?

So in short, I really think we do 'get' the point you're making, but in my honest opinion you're still just coming across as impatient and a bit spoilt.

Impatient? C'mon, I liked the word "impetuous" you used!

Stop asking for the updates, they've said numerous times they don't give specific dates, just rough estimates. One thing I've learned is to just let them do their thing. Do not I agree with how they handle announcing service packs, no! But it is what it is. I know for now on to buy their products once all the service packs are released, to save me the trouble of waiting on them. If it flies, fly it, if it doesn't put it in the hanger, till its ready to be flown. We all spent good money on a product that we expect to be perfect, and have to wait for it to be perfected, is frustrating, but hey it works better than some other planes even without the service packs.

I hope the next project after the sp1c and 747 2.0, then you will add the 737 MAX for the 2.0 release of NGX.

i have a question robert,

First of all, i appreciate your great work to bring this kind of simulation to an 8 years old simulator.

Some where colse to the realease of sp1, i remember you saying that you were working on ( or you have plans to work on, im not sure) gound effects like realistic taxiing power usage depanding the surface of the taxi way or  something like that and you told us to expect this feuture in a further update. I was wondering that, did you already make it in sp1b or not yet ? Or this is one of the feutures you are working on right now for sp1c?

Thank you in advance

Where is SP1b? I've been away for awhile, and came up here to find out about  the pending SP1c. So I went right up on PMDG's site to download SP1b, and their site also highlights the SP1b update:

PMDG 777-200LR/F Service Pack 1B now Available!

But when I click on that link, all I see is the download for SP1. Now, I don't mind if I can just download SP1c when it's released, if that will encompass SP1b. But is there an SP1b? When I even try to download the SP1, the link fails.

Wazz-up?
