October 12, 201411 yr Just getting into flying this pretty bird and something weird is happening. After from 5 to 25 minutes, the electric power shut off and all my instruments are gone. I confess to not having yet done much reading, but Carenado doesn't supply much for the aircraft itself. I'm going to go get the SP1, but any thoughts would be interesting. William
October 12, 201411 yr Did you flip the generator switches on Overhead? UK P3DV5 and Xplane 11 SimmerPilotEdge I11, CAT11, A-Z (ZLA), A-Z (WUS) System details: Gigabyte P57v7 CF2 17.3" laptop. October 12, 201411 yr Author LOL, no. When I looked there was no overhead, not even an interior roof. Better go look again carefully.
October 12, 201411 yr Guessing: Sounds a bit like a battery bug (your systems are running on it, it drains, you lose them, generator switches only seem to be connected). Are you using a special startup flight or the default trike? If the problem stays the same with SP1, you could try looking up the key commands for master battery and master avionics and test if those make a difference. There would also be a tweak via FSUIPC or a modified aircraft.cfg parameter but maybe it's just mentioned startup situation which doesn't connect the generator in a way. As said, guessing.
October 26, 201411 yr I got exactly same problem last night. I bought PC12 after Oct 4 so it's on SP1. This is how I did: on P3D V2.4 start up screen I selected KIAD airport and PC12. Once loaded, instruments were on or starting up, but engines shuts down within seconds. I hit Ctrl-E to start it up and then took off for a short GPS flight to PA88 by GNS530 Everything seems to be fine until ~30min later I was landing at PA88 . Right before the runway all power shut off. The engine was still on and the plane was perfectly flyable so I landed no problem. Is there a single switch I can flip to prevent this? 9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11
October 26, 201411 yr As part of your preflight did you check your generators? (If you start with it running, I'm pretty sure they're both off.) Switches are on the overhead. If those are on and it still happens then it would sound like a bad bug. Gregg Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
October 26, 201411 yr Thanks! I'll check the overhead board to see if generator is switched on. To be honest, I'm not big fan of doing cold start etc so that's partly my fault. I just prefer by pressing a single key then everything gets turned-on/off properly and I can take off. I only care to spend time to set up flight plans etc... 9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11
October 29, 201411 yr This happened again to me today, on the 2nd leg of my flight. I figured out it only happens after selecting cold and dark from the Carenado menu.
October 29, 201411 yr 777 I will give it a try and report, I start from cold but of my own making not Carenado ... Jorge
October 30, 201411 yr 777 I run the AC for 3 hours (p3D) from C/D shift 9 and all was OK... Jorge A recommendation...IMO make a little effort, it will not take you lots of time and read the procedures, try to follow the whole procedures and fly with it...search on youtube, are plenty PC12 videos out there...paying almost 40 bucks for just press START and go...IMHO you wasted your money... leave that feature for default airplanes...but this kind of airplanes with such this amazing quality, deserves to follow the procedures...or at least spend some time in the cockpit know and understand the aircraft and its systems, not just press start and go...it will not take you hours to follow the procedures and there are not 100 buttons to press out there to get in the air...
October 30, 201411 yr jjmp, could you please enlighten us as to which procedure should we follow to not have the AC lose power after some time in flight after following the Cold/Dark start??? have we missed a switch or lever??? thankyou... Jorge
October 30, 201411 yr jjmp, could you please enlighten us as to which procedure should we follow to not have the AC lose power after some time in flight after following the Cold/Dark start??? have we missed a switch or lever??? thankyou... Jorge I don't know, I've not experienced a power lost anytime in any flight...and I follow the complete procedures in every flight I make... If that happens just when you follow the procedures, then you're missing something...try to look everything and follow every step, to make sure you didn't miss anything...no one here have reported a power lost during the flight...so it's pretty sure you're missing something...
October 30, 201411 yr jjmp have you read this thread , 2 people have rreported the problem, I dont have it and I'm trying to help... Jorge
