October 23, 201411 yr Hi guys, I installed PrecipitFX with EMT, all went well(I think) but is it normal to get this vortex effect? It is really bad at night when it is more clear to see. It means that it did not install correctly. Your better off like me doing a install to dummy effects and texture folders and then copying and pasting those into prepared Follow me on : Instagram See my Trailer: A Year Of Flight

Your better off like me doing a install to dummy effects and texture folders and then copying and pasting those into prepared Thanks for response, how do I do a "dummy" install when PrecipitFX just installs without any prompts? I looked in the backup files from EMT, would it be in there? I don't have FSX installed. Thanks.
October 23, 201411 yr Thanks for replies all I'll definitely purchase once the P3D version is released! Chillblast Core i5 14600KF Liquid Cooled RTX 4070 SUPER 32GB RAM. Internet: 1 Gig Fibre. HoneyComb Throttle & Flight System. UK PPL since 2006 current on PA-28, C-152, C172, Decathlon, C-42 based at EGHP.
October 23, 201411 yr Just llok where and what it installed into FSX and copy those files over to P3D in the proper folders Except you have no idea where or what it installs as it tells you nothing during the install part. From EGFF to YSSY
October 23, 201411 yr In prepar3d I renamed texture and effects folder and replaced them with "dummy" named folders. Ran the installer with EMT enabled and once finished I had the dummy folders with files in them. I copied the newly installed files into the original backed up folders and renamed them back to their original state. Fired up p3dv2 and still the wormhole/vortek effect. I am puzzled why some have got this to work. User error maybe but don't think so.

Because you have to do that with the folders in the FSX directory and then paste the contents of the texture and effects folder into prepar3d. Your essentially taking the last created files from FSX In the texture and effects folder and pasting them into the prepar3d texture and effects folder Follow me on : Instagram See my Trailer: A Year Of Flight

Thank you all for the inspiration, we released some previews on our Facebook page this evening of our work on PrecipitFX for Prepar3D V2. I hope you all like it! Looks nice. My questions: 1. What about contrails on VATSIM? 2. Have you considered adding some new environment effects in the future, like new sun, wet/frozen runway (something like Aerosoft AES effect for all runways)? Frank

Hi Frank, Contrails in PrecipitFX also work on VATSIM. There are many areas we would like to work on. You will see many great products from us for a long time. Keven Menard Technical Director, //42.

October 24, 201411 yr Looks awesome. So just so I'm clear - the windshield drops FX on the Duke video are generated by the Duke, not PrecipitFX, correct? Aaron Thacker
