A380 released by wilco go get it!

Im sorry... I just think this will be an aweful airplane to fly in. 600-800 people boarding and disembarking...plus the bathrooms etc...tight seats...total skypig. Nothing against Airbus, but I dont want ANYTHING to do with this airplane in so far as economy class is concerned. Now first or business class might be interesting, but then Im not sure what the advantage is over a seat in an A330/340 or B744.Im not going to doubt the future...if this is it... but as a person who flies every week on commercial airplanes, the last thing I want is 600-800 co-passengers with carry on luggage. Will take 2 hours to get on the d@mn thing.I dont like the A380 SkyPig as a concept and wont support it with my own ticketing. Eric

A380 economy in 3class config is described as more roomy than average, and with 2 decks you will not feel any more crowded than you would on a regular twin aisle - and as for boarding times, that's part of what the airport mods are for - it's not like 555 people will form one queue...If i told you the thing won't be certified if it can't be evac'd in 90 sec would you believe me?As we've all seen, pigs do fly... :-halo regards,MarkXPHomeSP2/FS9.1/3.2HT/1GIG/X700pro256

Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks as though they have placed a centre gear on the model making five main gear. All the info I've read says that it only has the four main gear as well as all the pictures of F-WWOW.11_p.jpgCheers,JohnBoeing 727/737 & Lockheed C-130/L-100 Mechanichttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg

Well, I had to do it. And as usual, the old folk are always right; curiousity DOES kill the cat (as well as 26 bucks).1 - Flight Deck Graphics - You gotta be kidding me. Some words come to mind, lets see: sloppy, poorly rendered, non-functional, out of scale, unsatisfactory...stop me when you see a word you like! The VC is pretty freeware-ish (no offense to freeware) and I didn't even bother with the 2D pit since I don't use it. What struck me is that the overhead panel is HUGE compared to the main panel! The knobs would be the size of ping pong balls in real life if it were scaled like this! *UGGGGHHH* I found it impossible to get a proper view AND all of the buttons are painted on and flat, they are not raised! Heck, they didn't even get a graphic of a cockpit door! When you walk out of the VC into the cabin you do it through a solid blue wall! 2 - Overhead functionality - :-xxrotflmao, I just couldn't type here without breaking out in uncontrolled spasms so we'll leave it at that.3- Documentation (errr, pamphlet?) - 26 pages, first few are advertising, and then a few pages on Airbus and the A380 and then the rest on functions. Trust me, the aircraft is not very funcational and everything you need to know to fly this thing can be summarized on a napkin anyway. They could probably cut it down to about a page and a half and save 25 meg in the download.4- Visual Model - Look, this is one ugly plane as it is, and I am sure Wilco didn't do it any justice. Also, I am not sure what they tried to do with the engine nacelles but the fan blades are almost hanging out! You'd NOT want to be a ground crew when these things are spooling up unless you want to use them as giant bread slicers!5- Virtual Cabin - Nicely rendered, but non functional. No buttons to press or toys to play with. The stair cases go up into the ceiling and they did not bother to texture the transition, just stairs to nowhere. Looks dumb. Quite frankly, I'd rather stay in the Virtual Cabin than go back to the flight deck! PLEASE don't make me go back to the flight deck!!!!6- Flight modeling - Whose to say? It taxis, it turns, it takes off, it lands. No one here is qualified to speak on its flight dynamics so they get by on this one.7 - Avionics - Somewhere between Perfect flight and PSS. Half way functional, some implementation, some not. Some here, some there. Its almost like the gauge programmer started off really well and then fell asleep and while he was sleeping the marketing team snuck the product out and made it available for dowload! My overall assessment? :-lol , :-xxrotflmao , :-lolI'd have been better off spending the money on advance tickets to Star Wars Episode III (or just giving it away to some unfortunate vagrant). After over a year of flying the PMDG 737NG and now the LDS 767, getting into this Wilco A380 is the same as a Triple-7 Senior Captain getting into a coin operated airplane ride at the mall!On Wilco's behalf, they have differenciated between their 'fleet' and 'PIC' products and the A380 is a 'fleet' product. Still...PMDG differenciates their products with their 'express' line (737NG vs B1900) and BOTH product groups are still enjoyable even when scaled down in complexity. Wilco didn't scale down the complexity, they shrunk it down to nothing!I guess, I wasn't expecting very much, and that's just what I got! I've purchased all of Wilco's Airport sceneries and the A320 PIC (which I love by the way) but this has to be the worst product Wilco has released. They would have done well to release it under another company name and spare the Wilco name the embarassment.Well, at least, I got at least an hour of entertainment from it with the uncontrollable laughter and the Pepsi pouring from my nose, it was worth $26 bucks!!!!I understand time and effort was put into this product, and in all honesty if you enjoy flying the default 737, 777 and 747 you will probably love the Wilco A380. For the rest of us? :-xxrotflmao Have fun!Mike T.

I never said FeelThere had anything to do with the A380 project... :-roll

I bought FeelTheres CRJ as WILCO Edition for 2004, and I was happy with it. But the development was FeelThere, Wilco was just publishing(collecting money without ANY service -so making the product just more expencive), the REAL service came from FeelThere.FeelThere will know why thay decided no to let Wilco publish the CaravanAnd now: Only a very few people have even seen the real cockpit of the faboulous A 380, and Wilco will have everything but any AOM.So I wouldn

>I seriously doubt the 380 has 2 TRs. Don't know where you got>that info from._____________________________Well... IT does only have TR on engine 2 and 3..._____________________________For the Wilco bird, panels, VC, Model etc looks way off the real thing...CheersStian

.... so you like it then?Toni.

Ok if they remove the extra gear, and fix the model so that only engines 2&3 have rev trust ill be a bit more happy with it.Im sorry but thats just sloppyness if you ask me, Not even bothering to check thease things out. I bet whoever made the model never even bothered looking at more than 1 picture of it.Even if it is only a "Fleet" product, it is so lame in quality with these kind of mistakes, that Im never going to buy anything again from Wilco unless its Feelthere or someone like them.I dare say we will se the usual complete silence from wilco, yep just another "put-out and Put up company".Fingers burnt AgainJason

Mike,This has got to be the funniest review I have read in years. You just made my day mate,Thank youBTW. wasn't planning to buy it anyway, LOL

Well, you've seriously doubted wrong mate. The previous poster is absolutely correct, something about avoiding FOD with the outers hanging over the edge of runways...Cheers,Chris Porter:-outtaPerthWestern Australia

Not that interested in evac time but more in the time it takes to load and unload pax in daily operations. Seeing will be believing.
