November 23, 201411 yr Hi, an avid user of FSX but really long to find a package (freeware or payware) of a classic aircraft...the type of RFP B747-200 where systems are programmed in much detail... which ones do you use and which do you recommend? tks emann
November 24, 201411 yr I guess everyone has their own personal definition of "classic" but mine would include the DC-3/C-47/Dakota. I don't think freeware gets any better than Manfred Jahn's (and group) filename:Douglas_c-47_v2.zip at Sim Outhouse It will eventually be even better with the "new" vintage cockpit. Ant's Tiger Moth is nice too. For payware the sky's the limit (or your wallet). I'm prejudiced but I consider the Citabria/Decathlon a classic and there are several good versions of the Cub and SuperCub.
November 24, 201411 yr Author hi and thanks... i was more referring to earlier types of jets...like the rfp 747-200 as an example or a dc-9 or a dc-10, 707, tristar, etc for fsx.... i will definitely have a look at the dakota...
November 24, 201411 yr When the Captain Sim sales start (lets assume around Christmas), you might be able to get the Boeing 707 for 10 bucks. You will find system details missing while others are nicely done and the presentation still is very good. They also sell a 1011 TriStar. Are you into Russian planes? Check the free Project Tupolev TU-154. Hardcore systems!
November 24, 201411 yr Author 10 bucks seem worth it....and wull look into the tu-154...this looks promising tks
November 24, 201411 yr that c47 V2 by Manfred, is a tremendous piece of freeware, definite a winner and a must have!!!!
November 24, 201411 yr Tinmouse II Boeing 737-200, freeware here in the library. A lot of systems detail, but no VC--It's all 2D panels. November 24, 201411 yr Flight Sim Labs, Concorde X. As complex as they get and great fun to fly ! Mark CYYZ
November 25, 201411 yr I am surprised that no one has yet mentioned the excellent Milviz 737-200, one of the best classic aircraft currently available for FSX. The Flight 1 DC-9 is also very good and I enjoy flying the Captain Sim 707, although it is certainly not as deep from a systems viewpoint as the Milviz 737. Bill
November 25, 201411 yr A2a 377 or b17 do not own the 377 but the b17 is my favourite by a mile the quality and systems are 2nd to none i have tried the justflights 707 and although a nice looking model the systems etc leave alot to be desired. For classic jets that are quality in every way is fslabs concorde x is by far the best hands down classic addon avaliable in my opinion ☺
November 25, 201411 yr Commercial Member And if you want something that is not a Boeing, there's also SimCheck Airbus A-300 sold by Aerosoft. Michael A2A Simulations
