March 29, 201511 yr I have a very special place in my heart for metal liveries...and sadly were're losing one when American finishes updating its fleet. With that said, I'm doing a series on metal paints...starting with one of my all-time favorites, one of the iconic airlines in American history. Eastern, I really, really miss them in the skies. I remember taking a flight out of KATL the day after they shut down operations, and seeing all their beautiful 757s, 727s, DC-9s and L1011s all parked at the gates. Here is the lovely 757 in that exquisite livery..."the Hockey Stick"! With an AA 757 brother on departure (and the focus of the next in the metal series) A close up on departure, love the RR emblem, classic on this bird! This is one of my favorite screens I think I've ever snapped...and I've snapped thousands! En-route to NY. Not sure why the jpg optimizer messed up the blue sky. :( On final 04R Almost down Ahhh....boards up...time to slow down! Taxiing past a bevy of international visitors to the Big Apple At the gate....unloading pacs and bags Nice overhead shot of this lovely bird! Please chime in and let me know your feelings about these classic liveries! Stay tuned for more in the metal series. Regards, Steve DraGet my paints for MSFS planes at flightsim.to here, and iFly 737s hereDownload my FSX, P3D paints at Avsim by clicking here
