pushback

Featured Replies

Hello, is there a program that will push the aircraft off the gate and turn the aircraft either to the right or left for taxi, thanks

Yes two different ones - AES and GSX. For me GSX is the winner as it works at any airport. AES requires credits for each installed airport and arguably doesn't look as good graphically. However there are others who prefer AES as it also animates the jetways and the pushbacks are optimised by AES not to push you into a terminal building or other aircraft. GSX is only as good as the taxiway lines designed into the airport scenery and consequently can give some rather funky pushbacks. But for me, it still is the more versatile of the two.

If using 'P' you can also tap the 1 or 2 key to turn left or right.

There is a payware addon called GSX from FSDreamteam that does pushback and lines the aircraft up on the taxi line.

I have it assigned to the P key, which is probably the default!

Shift+P is the default key, P is the default Pause key.

Shift+P, then 1 turns the plane to port during pushback (after a small delay).

Shift+P, then 2 turns the plane to starboard during pushback (after a small delay).

3 stops pushback.

4 stops the turn, pushback continues.

I agree, I have used all three options, Stock, AES & GSX and for me GSX is the best and does most to add to the simulation.

I purchased GSX, but I only use AES. You do have to buy credits for AES but some airports are free. Nonetheless, it only works at AES ready airports and the vast majority are payware. The actual AES plug in is free.

One of the reasons that AES charges for each airport is because they custom design the pushback sequence from every gate at every airport.

In the end, I like AES more, because of the gate animation and the fact that I have built up a ton of credits over the years. With each reinstall of FSX, you have the opportunity to reapply your previously purchased credits to only the airports you currently want to install. When I uninstalled FS9 and reinstalled FSX, I had over a 100 credits from FS9 airports to apply to FSX airports. When I installed FSX on a new system, I could reuse all of those credits that I had previously applied to old airports on my old install.

Also, for simplicity, I like having only one ground services system.

For AES, it is not possible to use in FSX -SE. As the dev for Vistamare Module has disappeared into oblivion. So if you decide to go the path of SE in the future, I would suggest GSX.

feel like it has been installed for ever. Still use it.

Thanks for pointing this out. I have not been following the FSX-SE discussions very closely. AES is pretty important to me, so now I don't have to consider switching over.
