Looks amazing!  20 euros? Carenado is looking more and more expensive these days!

Aviable here, I think it is the same aircraft. Looks very promising!

Thanks for that! I read through the preview a little too quickly and didn't realise it'd already been released. That is indeed the same aircraft.

That external model and VC are absolutely gorgeous.

I might pick it up soon but I'd be interested in any reviews first.

and yes, Carenado are taking the...p, recently!

Just on a cosmetic bases,  the first pic has me sold,  love the military stuff,  also the dark VC is good.

Why so little interest in this plane? It seems very promising. Anybody get it yet?

Anyone else notice that in the video the number three engine is supposedly on fire then shutdown, but when the external view is shown from the rear of the aircraft the number two engine is actually shut down? The next view in the cockpit shows the number three engine. Could just be bad editing because the number three engine in the initial shot was on fire. Man that sounds confusing lol.

Okay - picked it up. Anyone else notice graphic artifacts when panning around the VC (only happens with this aircraft)?

I wish they would do a C-17 or better yet a C-141

I'm interested in this one too. Saw a real one doing circuits at Blackpool EGNH one evening this week - like a C130 on steroids!

I bought it but download was corrupted. I ignored this error and tried to install. When I select the a400 aircraft I get fatal error and fsx crashes. It seems there is a problem with a dds file. Redox loading now and I'll try again. I expect no support on this purchase so i took a chance. More to come.

So I got it installed but when I select the aircraft I get a Fatal Error and FSX crashes.  The faulting module is panels.dll  I emailed the publisher and will have to wait to see if I get an answer.  So no opinion so far on this.  I'm wondering if the problem is because I don't have acceleration installed, just have SP2

looks insteresting, I'm sure its not 100% modelled, but the price I think is fair, will definetely test fly this bird tonight

I got it working.  It's pretty decent!  Not PMDG-like polished but also much better than BBS A330.  It's a very reasonable price and the exterior model is exceptional.  The VC is quite good as well.  It flies nicely and overall I can recommend it!  The only major drawback is the sound.  I would like to switch the sound from the CS C-130 to this one.  Anyone no where I can find a link to do that?

I had read in another post that not all the switches, etc are modelled. If somebody has bought this, can they confirm this or negate this.

Yes. That's true.  A lot of the switches don't work or make no sound when clicking.

Well got it downloaded, almost 2gig in size and quite an elaborate way to activate upon installation...well as most are saying here, not all the switches/knobs are functioning...as expected...of course not PMDG style/design, but obviously, the pricing kinda gives it away...but...I guess the fun part is being pleasantly surprised that some of the systems do actually work.

I think its a matter of setting ones expectation, as well all know, simulating the real A400M will take years and tremendous resources to achieve...so in the mean time will try and figure out how to start the engines of this "puppy"...by the way can't start using the default "Ctrl+E" so there you go...

By the way, not documented in the manual or I may not have found it yet, I discovered how to change the state to "cold & dark"...need to press to "off" the "three (3)" battery switches on the overhead panel, however make sure you did not start the APU, otherwise it will not change.

On another note, not to change the thread subject line, has anyone got the IRIS Airforce Series - Battlefield Airlifter?  I also saw this last night at simmarket and got it too, & again was pleasantly surprised at the features of this "baby" C-130...it even supposedly has an FMC, but I did not had time to verify if it works...

thanks for listening,

-Dan

I'm wondering if this is because Airbus has a factory somewhere near Cheshire. I can't remember exactly where, but when I worked in Stoke-On-Trent for 9 months (yeah, London to Stoke-On-Trent, you see why 9 months) I worked with someone who worked at Airbus before and I'm sure it was in the Cheshire area. Blackpool is probably a pretty quiet airport

That Airbus factory is a Deeside, Cheshire. Most likelihood Blackpool was used by the A400 is because to all intents and purposes, Blackpool Airport as far as civilian traffic is concerned, is defunct since Flybe and Aer Airann., Jet2.com and some others pulled out once the owners of the airport, Balfour Beatty decided it was not a paying proposition, and thus it was a quiet airport to do circuits, etc

There was a demo mounted a few weeks ago by supporters hailing passing cars hoping to rally support that normal air ops resume featured on BBC local news.

I tracked it back to Wiltshire / Lynham area an hour or so later.

Unfortunately Blackpool is really quiet now so a good place to practice circuits - or procedural approaches as this was - repeatedly.

I sense some sarcasm there Dean. I lived in Greenwich for 3 years and there must have been a chopper base somewhere near as there where constantly chinnok-type choppers flying over. Also right over a Heathrow STAR/ILS for 27L/R path which was quite nice. Sunny day sitting on blackheath seeing a lot of planes going over. They where never noisy really, but you can be blind and tell it's a 777 going over. Those engines are so distinctive.

I didn't know Balfour Beatty owned airports, I thought they where just trains. I can understand on a jobs front, but Manchester and Livepool airports are not far away from Blackpool to fly in/out of. Southend airport has really ramped up recently, flew to Amsterdam a few times from there. But I think the residents probably don't mind the noise too much considering it brings jobs to the area.

Anyway, sorry took it way off topic there
