June 4, 201511 yr After three days of trying to order a Ti, I just snagged an EVGA Superclocked Ti on NewEgg. If anyone wants to order before they run out again, now's the time. Chris Magnus HR Manager Air Jamaica Virtual Airlines and Cargo (http://www.airjamaicavirtualairlinesandcargo.org)
June 5, 201511 yr You won't regret it. That's what I got and where also. I'm pretty sure none of the higher end models than the SC are available anywhere now.
June 5, 201511 yr If any of you guys that bought the 980ti want to get rid of your old card , I'd really like to upgrade from my 8400! My next door neighbor just scored an Audi S8 (610hp all wheel drive) as a company car no less. By the time I upgrade my i7-2600K, add in the fastest 8 Gb of RAM, go for a new 1200w PSU, plug in three GTX 980ti's in 3X SLI and set up liquid cooling for all of the above I'm pretty sure I'll have less in the bank than he has. When will I stop the quest for a 10GHz OC and 300fps? NEVER!! Rick Bertz

June 6, 201511 yr You won't regret it. That's what I got and where also. I'm pretty sure none of the higher end models than the SC are available anywhere now. I hope so. I'm lucky I was able to get both my current 980 SC's sold and I actually came out ahead on the sale. I wish it came with a back plate but no matter, it'll be water-cooled in a couple of months and hopefully EVGA will release a back plate for it soon. Now I need to resist buying a second Ti for SLI......... Chris Magnus HR Manager Air Jamaica Virtual Airlines and Cargo (http://www.airjamaicavirtualairlinesandcargo.org)
June 6, 201511 yr I think I'll just stick with my 980,I hold out till the next generation of CPU's (skylake k series) and build a new system around that with the latest graphics card at the point. ATP MEL,CFI,CFII,MEI. Type Ratings B-737, ERJ-190,ERJ-170
June 8, 201510 yr Just installed the Ti and I'm a little surprised that the performance in P3D is pretty much the same as when I had the 980's in SLI. I did my usual test flight (Orbx PNW, KHQM to KSEA with heavy cloud cover from Actice Sky) and while the FPS was slightly less, the overall experience appeared to be smoother. I also did not take a hit due to the clouds that I was expecting which was surprising. Early days yet though.... My only complaint is the temperature the card runs at. The reference cooler really isn't that good. I understand the Titan X's water block will fit this card so once EVGA confirms that, I'll start order parts to build the loop. June 8, 201510 yr Very interesting to hear how your experience with the 980Ti outperforms your experience with 2 980s. Must admit it's tempting to replace my current 1st gen Titan with a 980Ti!
June 8, 201510 yr Very interesting to hear how your experience with the 980Ti outperforms your experience with 2 980s. Must admit it's tempting to replace my current 1st gen Titan with a 980Ti! It is surprising to me as well. Either the driver / p3d combo hasn't really been optimized (most likely cause) or the 980 Ti is really better than the 980. June 8, 201510 yr Further testing show that while a single Ti is definitely better than a single 980, in some scenarios, the 980's in SLI perform better such as very heavy cloud cover with volumetric fog turned on. I found that while FPS was only slightly lower with the Ti, the experience was not as smooth as with the SLI configuration. Pretty much, SLI showed little to no loss in smoothness when moving in and out of heavy cloud cover while the single Ti did. The Ti is not nearly as bad as a single 970 or 980 but you do see a difference. Other than that and the temperature issue, I'm pretty happy with the Ti. June 9, 201510 yr Thanks for sharing! Thought you might want to watch this. https://youtu.be/u4RyNNlKbJw It would rip a Titan a new one. I'm preparing to ditch my watercooled 780s for a pair of 980ti's. Watercooled as well of course. David Graham Google, Network+, Cisco CSE, Cisco Unity Support Specialist, A+, CCNA

June 20, 201510 yr I've been using my 980 Ti for two weeks now as a replacement for my two EVGA 980's with the ACX cooler and I'm very impressed. I've been able to use the same settings with the Ti that I had with the two 980's in SLI and while the maximum FPS is not as high, the other performance metrics are pretty much the same. It is just as smooth and is not affected when ASN throws a lot of clouds at it as my single 980. I do plan to get back into SLI soon with another Ti but that is more for the other games I play than for P3D. I will say that at 4k, this single card is much more impressive than my 980's in SLI were. The only downside to the card I got is the cooler as I got the EVGA SuperClocked with the reference cooler which, frankly, is quite disappointing. I am currently waiting on EVGA to get their hybrid cooler in-stock so I can resolve this problem, Great card, especially if you're using 4K. If you're not doing 4K, this card really isn't necessary as I've never seen P3D use more than 2.3k of VRAM.
