I'm doing a lot of GA flying in the default B58 at the moment. I have the Aeroworx B58 but I'm on Windows 7 and the reality XP gauges won't work. Aeroworx also have a "Lite" version available fairly cheaply without the gauges, and there is a Caenado model available too, but this doesn;t have a 2d panel but is significantly more expensive.

 

 

Is the Carenado model much better, is the Aeroworx "Lite" model worth getting or should I stick with default. The B58 does seem one of the better default FS9 planes, are the commercial alternatives worth the expenditure.

 

PLease let me know what you think, especially if you've tried all three.

Milviz makes a B55 Baron, which is much better than the default. Not sure if they will work with the Reality XP gages.

I don;t want the Reality XP Gauges, they're what's not working on my old CD copy of Aeroworx B58. Thanks though, I'll check that out.

That was actually a really nice plane!

 

If you like the 2d panel, you could buy the RXP FLT gauges and replace the old

RXP gauges in the panel.  Then they work again in Win7..

 

You can also put them in the default Baron for a nice upgrade.

 

For FS9,  I do not believe the Carenado model would be better, especially not

if you like 2d panels!

Yes, that might work... the problem is that Dreamfleet is out of business, so there is no support in case of problems.  If you buy it through Flight1 you at least have a money back guarantee.

 

It is now years ago, but I recall replacing the gauges with RXP FLT gauges when I went to Win 7.

 

Dreamfleet did have the nicest looking panels in FS9 :rolleyes:

 

Now, I fly FSX, so all this is a bit of distant memory..

I'm using the Dreamfleet B58 and A36 with Reality XP gauges on Win 7 64 bit and they work fine.

 

The Reality XP GPS however doesn't work. You probably know this is because the Garmin Trainer is 16 bit software and that won't work on 64 bit Windows. But you can easily fit some other GPS in or use the default GPS. I've made two different setups, one that use the GPS from Friendly Panels and one that use the default GPS.

 

In the setup that uses the default GPS I have modified the panel.cfg to replace the Reality XP GPS with a coverplate and I then use the default GPS as a pop-up just as when flying a default aircraft.

 

In the setup that uses the Friendly Panels GPS I modified the panel.cfg to replace the Reality XP GPS with the one from Friendly Panels (GNS430 for the A36 and GNS530 for the B58).

 

When installing the Dreamfleet aircraft when the installer prompts you to install the Garmin Trainer you can click the skip button. This prevents the Trainer from being installed, but the rest of the aircraft and the Reality XP gauges install just fine.

 

The Friendly Panels GPS I use come from this pack:

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and FSX, and Reality XP GPS, and the RXP and the Garmin Trainer work splendidly!

Correct, so the best solution is to purchase the current RXP GNS gauge and install it.  Then it will work in Win7-64.
