  1. Hi, I've MSFS installed on both a PC and Xbox. For the PC I have yoke, medals and throttle set and would rather not have to buy a whole new set of hardware for my Xbox setup. Has anyone created an interface which would allow PC peripherals to be used on Xbox? Huge gap in the market for this if not, unless there's some reason why it couldn't be done.
  2. Hi, Yes the same account on both. Usually add ons work across the two platforms seamlessly but not in this case Thanks, Paul
  3. Hi I have MSFS set up on both PC and Xbox under the same account. Usually if I buy an addon it can be used on both. I have recently bought the Black Box Islander and installed on Xbox, very nice it is too. I have installed it on the PC under Content Manager as well but it doesn't come up under plane selection when I go to the flight planner although it shows as installed under Content Manager. Is there any way of using this on my PC as well or will I have to uninstall from Xbox first? Thanks, Paul
  4. I'm a PC simmer since 95 (and had a flight sim on my ZX81!) and use MSFS in VR on my PC, but have an XBOX S and the idea of a bit of more casual flying in bed or on the big telly downstairs is just fab. I think if it piques more people's interest in the hobby in a more serious way (esp as the license is cross platform), then it can only a be a very positive thing.
  5. What about exporting flightplans and importing them into MSFS? I don't think that can be done at present. Yes, cant wait until P2ATC is up and running in MSFS, all the best.
  6. An altitude knob in the G58, that's the main one for me.
  7. It's working fine for me, I think whats happening for a few people is that the program is assigning functions to various perpherals erroneously, and they are causing problems and those bindings have to be removed manually I think you might have to go through all of those settings and see
  8. Plan G is not working either, although it shows that it connects.
  9. Sorry, bit self indulgent this but like a lot of people moving over to this from XP, I've spent a couple of days moaning about lack of this system and that system and this not being quite right and that being all wrong but... last night I was flying over scotland at 15000 feet, into some clouds, saw precipitation land on the window and freeze. When I turned windscreen heating on, it melted. It was such a little thing, but so beautifully rendered and detailed that it made me realise for the first time what the potential of this sim is. I took a photo on my phone as I was so wowed by it but can't post it on here. So yeah, get an alt knob in the G58 already but... yeah, nice job.
  10. It's normal for those nose to dip on a turn isn't it, and then re-trim when level. That's been the same on any simulated aircraft I've flown, I thought that was one of those weird flying principles.
  11. Just to get this straight, with AI Traffic the ATC interacts and controls it but with real world traffic it doesn't so that as a pilot you have to make sure that you're not trying to land at the same time as someone else? Like with the traffic programs in XP? How does Networked traffic work? Surely you can;t see everyone who is flying on the sim? Thanks, Paul
  12. Its a funny mixture of stuff that is aimed at new simmers and things that are very difficult for more experienced simmers, such as configuring peripherals. There's a bunch of bugs and ommisions that there shouldn't be that make AP/IFR impossible or at least very difficult for the moment. It does look nice, but only P3D with Orbx nice, although it's great that it covers most of the world. I don't think it should have gone out in its current state, its going to really baffle and annoy both first timers and old timers for different reasons and I don't understand why VR on launch wasn't prioritised, an autumn launch with everything fixed would have been better. I look forward to seeing how it develops but still finding XP with VR and Voice operated ATC with p2ATC a far more immersive experience for now.
  13. Hi , I'm a bit confused about how you operate the G1000 in the Baron 58 (and probably other planes too). In the old FSX G1000 there was a knob for adjusting the altitude, and is you selected VS mode, this would, I think increase or decrease VS to head towards selected altitude. There doesn't seem to be an altitude knob on the G1000 in MSFS so how do you select altitude and VS for AP? Thanks, Paul
  14. Hi I know this has been kind of covered but the answer seems a bit ambiguous. Am I able to complete the download in sections? And then pause, close the client and then restart later without losing any content? I think it would be best for me to download in 3 or 4 chunks if possible, given that I need to use my broadband for work, video conferences and a bit of Netflix in the evening over the next few days! Thanks, Paul
  15. You're right, its extremely cynical to make the download time part of the recorded Steam play time when the thing typically takes 8 hours to download inside its own app. I've bought Deluxe on Steam but can wait until Friday to download when hopefully a bit quieter and some of the glitches have been ironed out. Patience, young man, patience!
  16. Ha ha I'm not a snob about this at all but I did think, with some of the people who were given early access, that having someone with no simming experience demonstrate the (ducks!) game didn't really show it in its best light. Having more knowledgeable simmmers do the pre-launch demos rather than more generic gamers would have made the program itself appear more impressive- much in the way that when I see people using VATSIM or study level aircraft in XP11 it spurs me on to learn more as it shows the potential of the application.
  17. Super Furry Animals of course!!
  18. How did you get those performance stats on screen, is that the developer mode?
  19. That biker fellow hasn't got a clue what he's doing and swears too much
  20. I think there are plans for P2ATC to be adapted for MSFS but the designer was turned down for Alpha testing so has to wait until full release to start development. It has its own forum on here and someone asked him the question. I enjoy using it in XP11 with voice recognition, will keep an open mind about the new ATC until I can give it a try. Voice recognition would be good though.
  21. Yes and SteamVR might be able to bridge between the early WMR implementation and devices that aren't supported at launch. I'm assuming a bit here, I know!
  22. There might, just might, be a way of implementing VR via Steam VR on Oculus etc, a little earlier than official MS support appearing. Reading between the lines...
  23. Hopefully there will be compatibility with p2ATC or similar sooner rather than later
  24. Hi I'm currently a user of XP11 in VR with P2ATC using voice control as I find this the most immersive way to use the sim. I know that it won't launch with VR but does anyone know if a vague timescale for VR has been mentioned? I'll buy MSFS2020 when it does, I couldn't go back to pancake, no matter how pretty. Also does anyone know if the ATC will have voice reconition? Again, having enjoyed this I'd find going back to pushing buttons for ATC would really break the immersion for me. I know there will be VATSIM support, but that doesn't really interest me. Thanks, Paul
