Thank you all very much!

In FSX SE I have two Shaders folders. The first one is: Shaders (Consists out of five folders, the contents of which I have deleted) And the second folder is called  Shaders10. Any idea what that is?

Many Thanks as always.

As with all Nvidia driver upgrades, remember after installing and rebooting to open the resolution section of NCP

Where is the resolution section in the Nvidia Control Panel? Can't seem to locate it anywhere...

Seriously..?

Open Nvidia Control Panel.

Click on CHANGE RESOLUTION under the Display settings.

Anyone know if you can have control over the settings in nvidia inspector?  I'd had issues with that on a prior driver release so I tracked down an older driver just so i could change the nvidia inspector settings.

Hooray,

This new driver lets me go in full screen without it being Black..

Dave

Very interesting Dave, I've had that full screen issue as well with FSX SE in Win 10 64

Went straight 356.04 myself. Empirical testing seems to show slightly better smoothness and maybe - just maybe - some improved colour control. Will do some more specific testing at the weekend.

As with all Nvidia driver upgrades, remember after installing and rebooting to open the resolution section of NCP and change the Output colour depth to `12bpc` and the Output dynamic range to `full`.

Also in P3D (and usually FSX) its a very good idea to delete all the temporary shader files.

I went ahead and threw caution to the wind and updated my driver to 356.04 and all i can say is wow.  I just completed a short jaunt around YBRM, no particular flightplan, just a test to see how the new driver handled the cursed stutters I'd been plagued with in P3D v2.5.  I can say with honesty that the stutters are much less than before.  I am very pleased.  With all ORBX scenery running, I can take my turns in the air without the serious lag happening before, despite holding a solid 30fps.

Thanks for the indirect tip Louis, I am more than happy now.  These drivers work very well with my installation of P3D.

EDIT:  Almost forgot to mention that these drivers are nvidia Inspector friendly as well...in case anyone hadn't already realized it.

Still have the black screen hitting ESC in full screen mode

The try the 356.04

NOT 355.98

Beta drivers, from normal reference sites.

If you don't know who they are, best left alone and stick with WHQL. Anything beta involves an element of risk, and you provide no information to enable anyone to help you if you get into trouble - system specs, OS, sim or anything, we won't be able to help if you stuff it up.

Since the release of new graphics drivers after version 353.62 my PC completely crashes during the install process of new NVIDIA drivers and results in big problems in getting the PC back to work. Fortunately WIN10 is sufficiently capable to recover and reinstall driver 353.62 that works fine.

the 'Shaders' folder is for dx9 ,..( edit.. and dx11 for p3d)

and the 'Shaders10' folder is for dx10. ( dx10 preview mode )

so if you are using Steve ' dx10 then you need to delete this folder.

Not that it really matters but you delete the contents of the folders, not the folders themselves.

Exactly Louis.  Just as you instructed me months ago, just place a shortcut to the folder(s) on the desktop and when needed, open it, select all files and delete...easy-peasy.
