Multi Leveled Runway at FTX PAJN...

Featured Replies

Hello All

Strange happening at PAJN this morning.  Flew out of KBFI with Airbus X A319 to ORBX PAJN and all went well with the flight until approach to PAJN runway 24.  Seemed that there was a graphics malfunction and as the gear touched down, the runway disappeared and another runway appeared below causing plane to drop further and crash.  The sim reset.

Disappointed, I thought it was a fluke and reloaded the Carenado Phenom 100 at the same airport and found this that the airport was two levels.  The plane is sitting on a hole in the ground (as if the immediate area has collapsed).  For some reason I'm unable to post the screen shots I made but, for those of you that may have experienced the Saltan Sea disappearance on ORBX it's very similar.

I had the problem in ORBX KPSP where, when flying south of the airport towards the Saltan Sea you would notice a gaping hole in the terrain where the sea should be.  Crazy because in that case even the roads collapsed into the hole and traffic flowed right into it...

Unfortunately, I can't remember what I did to fix that problem other than disable UTX.  With that measure taken sometime ago I'm not sure what to do here.  Has anyone experienced anything like this problem in ORBX/FTX?  If so, how did you fix?

Thanks

Two questions:

1. Do you have Orbx SAK (NA Southernn Alaska) installed? It is required for PAJN.

2. How did you configure your mesh resolution? It must be 5m.

Hey Barrel_owl

Yes, I do have SAK but, I will have to check the mesh resolution.

Thanks for the advice...

Just checked the Mesh setting and it is at 5m.  Also, reloaded the airport and still have the problem...

Do you have an airport elevation correction for PAJN activated somewhere?

Ethan Edelson

I am having similar problems with ORBX scenery recently and I think it started after installing Canada / Alaska.  I have it at ORBX airports and default airports but its very random.  I have run the Vector elevation tool multiple times but does not seem to help.

Not that I know of.  Haven't flown to the airport in sometime so I don't know when the problem began.  The last add-on I installed was the registered version of FSUIPC.  There is an update in on the FTX site though.  Going to try that and see what happens...

Hey Mark

I also opened a post about the problem on ORBX support forum.  Hopefully I will get some understanding and help.  If so, I will post here...

...and last but not least, there is an update for PAJN...

If you have UTX Alaska-Canada, you need to use their Setup tool and "disable" the "reposition" airport.

You may have to do that for other airports also.

Run FTX Global Airport Elevation Correction.

Thanks Bluestar - Not really sure how to do that but, I will look now and try...

Known issue when you try to run FTX SAK and UTX Alaska there is a fix on the orbx forum.

Drumsart - I got the update and it's working now.  Not sure if the update or elevation correction did it but, thanks for the advice!

Thanks Bruce!  I figured as much but, I couldn't find this afternoon...

Thanks, this may be my issue as well.

Now that the primary issue has been resolved, can we talk about...

Flew out of KBFI with Airbus ...

This statement sent chills up and down my spine.

The mere thought of an Airbii at Boeing Field is heresy.

Tower would never give you clearance to land and if you did anyway, the locals would commandeer your plane and disassemble it for scrap before the exhaust nozzles cooled.

An Airbus at BFI, not on my watch.

Joe
