CRJ-200 Possibilities?

Featured Replies

I've just joined Vatsim and considering moving up to a small regional jet.  I would like it to be in the 50 passenger or so range, so I'm thinking a CRJ-200.

I found talk of one of Facebook, but no posts since 2014.  I know that Aerosoft is bringing out a 700/900, but I'm not looking to go that big.

Can anyone recommend a good CRJ-200 for Vatsim, or something in that range?

Thanks,

Ernie

The Wilco/Feel There CRJ was a poor product when it first came out years ago. I definitely wouldn't touch it! The only good regional jet for MSFS is the QW BAe 146/ARJ. Like the real thing, it's a bit quirky but it has good systems modeling and an excellent VC

Thanks..

It looks like I might be forced to consider something bigger.

As well, the Feelthere ERJ 135 145 are not too bad either. It was a shame about their CRJ as was no where near as godd as these.

Other than the badly flawed Wilco CRJ-200, there is no other 200 available in the FSX world, and it is unlikely there ever will be.

However, Aerosoft is quite close to releasing their new CRJ 700/900 add-on. It looks like it will be a top-quality product.

There is an excellent CRJ-200 pay ware add-on for X-Plane, but it is extremely doubtful that any developer will expend the effort to make a 200 for FSX/P3D for the simple reason that the 200 model has been largely phased out by real world operators in favor of the 700 and 900 versions.

There are still CRJ-200s in use, but fewer and fewer with each passing year.

There is a freeware CRJ-200 from IRIS Simulations which isn't bad.  Just type "IRIS Easter Eggs" into a search engine and you'll find the website.

You can add the default CRJ-700 virtual cockpit to this plane as it uses an FSX model.

I thought the Aerosoft CRJ was close to release last month but they have delayed, so if the OP really wants something now, I wouldn't suggest waiting for it, who knows how long it can take for them to get it released.

Really isn't much choice, since it is the only payware CRJ currently in development. Of course, there are other non-CRJ regional jets on the market, like the Feel There Embraers - I have the 175/195 and they are not bad at all.

I don't think it will be too much longer for the Aerosoft

I agree I would wait for the aerosoft crj a shame it was delayed again.

Unless I want to wait three months for the CRJ, it appears that my best immediate options are the 175/195 or 135/145..

Fortunately both are on sale at SimMarket until November 1st.

As for the Aerosoft CRJ, we'll see what January brings. :-)

Thanks for the great input.

Ernie
