May 26, 201610 yr Author Very true bonchie, but that would require 3d terrain for runways and surrounding environment, as well as that night and lighting effects X-Plane 10 has.... Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
May 26, 201610 yr Yes, as long as the 3rd party scenery is using either the default "Lego brick" scenery or custom 3D models. Sharp as a tack at long distance. If it uses an orthophoto bitmap as a base layer it can blur a bit. Thank you for all the info
May 26, 201610 yr A definitive statement with zero evidence from the person who also made a definitive statement that they were done commenting on Flight School. Why should anyone believe a word you say? Spot on.

May 26, 201610 yr Commercial Member Just noticed this in the CFG. Guess this is coming.... Finally!? WindshieldPrecipitationEffects=1 No, this is in FSX, too. It toggles the rain effect on 2D cockpit views. Brandon Filer
May 27, 201610 yr A definitive statement with zero evidence Who says that you need evidence to make a definitive statement?
May 27, 201610 yr Who says that you need evidence to make a definitive statement? You don't; you can make definitive statements based on false assumptions or anecdotal evidence, which you did. However, If you can add FACTS/DATA to backup your assertions, maybe your ideas won't be summarily dismissed as mere conjecture. Then again, you already stated you're not going to provide further comments on this subject matter; so, this is all academic... Matt King
May 27, 201610 yr If you try flying the icing mission, the windshield is definitely iced over. Is it just a visual effect, or can you feel the added weight in the plane's flight model? X-Plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator on Windows 10 i7 6700 4.0 GHz, 32 GB RAM, GTX 1660 ti, 1920x1200 monitor
May 27, 201610 yr Is it just a visual effect, or can you feel the added weight in the plane's flight model? There is definitely something going on with the airplane in that mission... but whether it's actual icing effects on the airframe or changes brought about by unique mission mechanics, I'm not sure at this point. I will say the first time I flew that mission, I thought I had the runway made - only to find myself dropping like a rock on a 1-mile final. Granted the airspeed indicator is frozen up the whole time (no pitot heat switch in the cub... I didn't think to press "Shift + H"); so there may have been some other contributing factors in there. The missions have been surprisingly fun so far.
May 27, 201610 yr I love all aspects of this 64 bit movement with the ORBX additions. I've turned up the LOD for the radius. They're some gorgeous areas to fly in such as Austria or the Swiss Alps. Ryzen 7 5800x, 64gb, 7900XTX 24gb
May 27, 201610 yr I've turned up the LOD for the radius How high have you gone... and what's the effect on frames?
May 27, 201610 yr I think the max limit from FSX is still hard coded at this point. But you should theoretically be able to now run it all the way with no issues. I think it was 9.5?
