Thanks for the kind words folks, I'll hopefully be able to get more involved in the next P3D version(s) as they are going to be very important milestones.

As far as ASN ... there is a new Build 6010 ... I've had pretty good success with:

Min surface Visibility = 0

Max surface Visibility = 200

Max upper Visibility = 200

Auto adjust upper Visibility = True

Multiple visibility layers = True

In P3D V3.2 the last option "Multiple visibility layers" caused a significant performance drop in "some" weather conditions.  So far I haven't ran into the problem in V3.3.5 (I am having some other performance issues in V3.3.5 but not related to weather and I can't replicate in a base no add-on install of v3.3.5)

Cheers, Rob.

On my system I see no changes between Max Cloud Draw Dtstance = 135 and 200

Therefore I have it at 135...

Sorry for your loss Rob. Please dont take to heart some comments here. I think the majority of people understand the variety of pressures personally and the difficulties in testing software. We do appreciate your contributions to our hobby..

Sorry for your loss Rob.  I lost my mom suddenly in July last year, so know how you feel.  Flightsim can seem sooooo important up until that point.   But it is also strangely comforting to come back to - eventually

Just to clarify my comments were in regards to Visibility layers and not Cloud Draw Distance.  So not sure if you had intended to quote me Gerard?

Cheers, Rob.

It is about yout Max

You got me on that one..

I meant that I see no difference between 120 mls visibility and 200.

Below 120 mls I can see the difference.

The same with the cloud draw distance.

Till 135 I can see the difference. Above looks the same.

However, I have to install the official SP5 as I still have the beta...

Absolutely, I'll admit I wasn't able to test P3D V3.3 that much since my father passed away April 23rd (age 86) and have been taking care of my mother (age 84) who now lives alone after 60+ years of marriage ... it's been somewhat of an emotional roller-coaster for me.  So there are also personal circumstances (family, life, work, etc.) that influence time available to test products and as such people should take those possibilities into consideration before making Beta accusations either directly or indirectly.

Cheers, Rob.

Take care Rob and my condolence, real world matters are far more important as the virtual space.

I know the feeling lost my mother last year at the age of 79.

My condolences to you Rob.  And a special thought for your mother. I understand how she feels : I lost my wife last October after 52 years of marriage. The loss of a beloved one after so many years does not leave you intact.  We all know that one of us will leave before the other, but when it happens you're broken.  I'm broken. But I'm confident that your love for your mother will help soothing her sorrow.

Understood, yeah that's about the same for me ... but my objective it to just let the weather download and interpretation come up with the values (essentially I don't artificially restrict it).

Cheers, Rob.

It's funny how some lose perspective.
