They dropped the price for existing customers to 28 euro. Nice move. Now i will consider buying it after some users reviews.

My question is - will AS16+ASCA work in such way that i do not have to change,adjust or switch anything to have proper visuals ?
I really don't like to chose 'sets' and 'options' here and there. 

 

That's the reason for dynamic updating. AS16/ASCA choose the proper sets for you according to the weather and changes them on the fly for you.

 

The options to manually install various sets and mix and match to create your own is there for those that just love to tweak.  

 

Other than for testing, I leave it on global dynamic setting and forget about it.

yes - 2 products but work together. You can just get AS16 and use it same way as you do other WX engines or get ASCA and have dynamic texture loading etc.

But for ASCA you need AS16.

So it means:

1. Only upgrade to AS16

2. Or if I want to use ASCA,I have to buy AS16, too.

Go read the website or read this thread. They are made for each other, one is weather and other is textures that have extra features when used with AS16. If you want full AS16 experience you get both, if you want amazing wx engine and use rex textures just get as16. I'm getting AS16 and then awaiting till a later date to get the ASCA when more reviews come in.

Is any functionality of Cloud Art lost if you don't have AS? I have no interest in real time weather, but I am interested in new cloud structures and textures. Is ASCA truly standalone?

This might sound dumb but  here goes it. whats the difference between asn and as16 ? I checked the hifi site but I'm not any wiser.

It's not on the download page yet Rich - I have asked and will post as soon as I get an answer. They were quite busy trying to get this ready for initial release.
