Active Sky Cloud Art for FSX & P3D - Released!

Featured Replies

Lol was thinking the same and couldn't follow the logic in that argument.

That's exactly why I purchased ASCA too with AS16 clouds are in real life diverse too.

I don't like every cloud in real life lol and seen a lot in the skies from above or below...

Hence it's more realistic to have different clouds during flight :-)

ASCA have some real beautiful clouds including soft clouds lol

And ASCA also has clouds and sky textures that look like they are from a cartoon movie. If they are going to change clouds just for the sake of changing clouds, then don't suddenly insert a cloud that looks terrible compared to what I was looking at 10 minutes before.

  • No.   Neither is needed to be done.     This is not intended to anyone particular but:   If you don't like the price then don't buy it. If you don't like the look then don't buy it.   Problem

  • Sometimes, when I read various posts, I really start to chuckle. As @Bobsk8 suggested, I wonder how many have spent much time in real flight. With over 10,000 hrs of flight time I can safely say that

Just to clarify Bob - the clouds don't change just for the sake of changing - if you have dynamic selected - they change with the weather and/or metar. If that doesn't change, the clouds don't change any more than they do normally.

And although I agree that perceptions differ, I have used four different cloud graphics through the years and every one of them has sets and skies that I would call "cartoonish".

I've been flying with AS16 and ASCA for some time and the majority of the time the views are breathtaking and very much what I used to see IRL. And frankly, I've seen some weird skies and clouds created by Mother Nature that, if I saw in a screenshot, would state that they were not real. I would venture a guess with your tenure in aviation that you have also.

That's a bit harsh I would formulated it a bit differently out of respect for the creators ;-)

For the record that's your personal view and opinion based on a few screenshots...

Nobody is forcing you to purchase AS just stay with whatever you have or prefer.

Have fun in the virtual skies gentlemen I have with AS16 +ASCA great combo

If you are looking to start an argument, I am not in the mood. You began  by commenting that you thought my logic didn't come up to your standards, and now you don't like my opinion of what I think about the way the clouds look compared to the soft clouds I already have. Would you feel better if I say, " OK , you win?"    :fool: Maybe I should send you all my posts, so you can approve them before I post them.

So what happens to ASN, in case a P3D update drops and it stops working / something breaks? Is ASN support completely dead or will it still be receiving functionality updates to keep it working with the 3.x branch of P3D?

ASN will not be completely dead.  As a matter of fact support continues for some time after a new HiFi product is released with SP's.  ASE is still receiving product support in the HiFi forum and that was surpassed by ASN.

You are correct, and I apologize, I mixed up your post with another one.

Anyone getting the AS16 splash screen then going off with no warning or error?

Is it showing up in your system tray?  There is an option to send it immediately to system tray.  Maybe you turned that on?

Hi, On the first initial start after install, splash screen comes on for a second or 2 then it just goes off. Nothing in taskbar, in fact it is so quick it doesnt even show in task manager. Very confusing. I did have ASN installed first then upgraded, uninstalled both then installed AS16 and same problem.

No problem Bob just exchanging views here only the nature of forum media is that you easily can misunderstand each other.

But I have of course respect for your personal opinion.

Cheers,

André

Maybe the download was corrupted. Have you tried downloading it again with a download manager?

Hi, never use download managers. Downloaded and installed twice. I have even updated Rex textures and soft clouds. Looks like a ticket will have to be submitted.
