Active Sky Cloud Art for FSX & P3D - Released!

Featured Replies

Pro ATC users and Active Sky 16.

For those that were using Active Sky Next for weather, and upgraded to Active Sky 16, don't forget to change your setting in Pro ATC to the new weather folder, or you will not get the current weather in Pro ATC. You have to change the Active Sky weather folder to Hifi/AS 16 ( P3D or FSX)/Weather and hit OK.

Do you have a link always great to see Gerard :-)

Complaints can be useful for prospective buyers imho, as is praise.

I agree to a certain degree, but they are always subjective as is the praise ;-)

To add when it's a balanced view then it's useful, but some are just so far from the truth examples in this thread ;-)

Go ahead Gerard.

Cheers, Rob.

I had ASN and Rex Soft clouds. Now I have AS16 and ASCA. I Like it much more. Just my opinion.

Same here :-)

Mate do you have any idea as to what hifi has altered to be able to get solid fps and smoothness through dense clouds using 4xsgaa?

I haven't tested with 4X SGSS AA, I use 8X MSAA (set in P3D).  No idea what HiFi did to improve FPS.  I have NOT tested AS16 with "enhance overcast" yet ... that option usually has a very high FPS hit (if the conditions are indeed overcast).

Cheers, Rob.

There are more vids to see if you like ...

The "enhance overcast" option is not there anymore. Which means, if you dont want to buy ACSA forger about overcast at all. All you'll get is this:

as16.jpg

MSFS2020, 24, Fenix A320,  Ryzen 9 9950X3D, ASUS TUF RTX 5090 ,G.SKILL 64GB 6000MHz CL28

Liked Rob's video (and you can always count on him to stick the landing, especially with that Yoko yoke!). We need more streaming vids to see how things really look. For those wondering about AS16 alone with REX textures, I found this. It's in Spanish, but illustrative, especially of overcast conditions transitioning to broken, fly-through effects, etc.

This video is mine i did it with AS16+REX ( At this moment ASCA are not very realistoc clouds and looks like a paint but i only what i see, i am not owner ASCA and can´t compare)

AS16 setting:

maximum cloud layer= 6

P3d low cloud offset= 500

Mult-layer thunderstorm clouds= Enable

All the rest in AS16 as default

Rob´s video looks very good but need to see more videos of ASCA.

If anybody wants any test in english with this settings i can do a video whit no voice or in english

Thanks

(I wrote this question on HiFi Forum too)

Hi,

tested some of situations Today of the new AS2016. I never noticed Cirrus clouds here, some of examples:

MVC310R27_sqqepwa.jpg

Prepar3D-_sqqepsh.jpg Prepar3D-_sqqepsr.jpg

Here example from ASN:

MVC310R25_sqqehhw.jpg

Can You confirm that AS16 + REX Texture Direct/Soft clouds genarates Cirrus also like in ASN or not?

It does. I'm on AS16 + Soft Clouds and this is what I'm seeing right now;

Almost everything you've typed over the last 24hrs is simply wrong. It's there, look again.
